How handy is this location? The Haven Certified Location is just a little way off the A74(M) and close to the M6 and A75, making it a very nifty stopover point for those travelling to the Highlands or the west of Scotland – or those planning a couple of days exploring the Borders area.
This small Dumfries and Galloway site has just a handful of pitches, which are available for Caravan and Motorhome Club members only. You’ll be able to bring your whole tribe along though, as kids and dogs are very welcome here, with a good dog-walking trail running directly from the pitches for a decent stretch of the paws.
It’s a fairly simple setup here, with guest access to wifi and a chemical disposal point but no toilets or showers. Pitches have electric hook-ups though, and they’re nicely spacious so you’ll be able to set up your awning, gazebo and camping table without being too cramped. Gretna (five minutes’ drive) is your nearest spot for a supermarket – and also has an outlet village where you can pick up some new clothes while you’re there.
