Formerly known as the White Lion Public House, this 16th -century pub was re-christened the Old Pound Inn in 1980, named after the old village animal pound that occupied the site before it became a pub. The Old Pound Inn has a good selection of West Country beers that are pulled from the sprung stillage in our cellar. We have an open Dutch fire at the centre of the bar, a lounge area and snug, as well as a 44-seat restaurant serving good honest food daily. We are of course a dog-friendly place – ask your server if they have any dog snacks available!Our restaurant is open from noon until 9 pm daily with a range that includes light bites, freshly made sandwiches, hearty pub staples and of course desserts. We have a Sunday roast with a choice of 3 types of meat and Wednesdays are steak night, which includes a drink. We have a large space available for private functions and events. With a commercial kitchen and bar available, we’re able to cater to a wide range of corporate and personal occasions for up to 200 people. The Old Pound Inn has 8 rooms that include singles, doubles, triples and quads. Each room is en-suite and has a number of facilities that include a mini-fridge, tea and coffee facilities, TV, and Free high-speed fibre WiFi.

Just south we have Wet Moor, a biological Site of Special Scientific Interest. The whole area is teeming with wildlife, including wintering whooper swans. The magic of RSPB Greylake. Located in the heart of the Somerset Levels and Moors, Greylake is the perfect place to get closer to nature. Thanks to all the water, you can see lapwing, redshank and snipe nesting in the spring and vast flocks of ducks and waders, being hunted by birds of prey in the winter.
