Dowlais Farm Holidays

Liked: Quiet location , was only two pitches in use on a Wed eve. Hot shower and eco friendly toilets . Couple miles walk to Clevedon pier and an Asda near by for supplies. Fire pits allowed .

Disliked: Very expensive for a basic site as needed to sign up to Greener campsite club as part of cost which I haven’t had to use before ( I camp weekly in my van ) so not sure if going to get my monies worth but appreciate sites aiming to be more sustainable.

We are sorry that you feel that it was a very expensive and hope that you are able to take advantage of the access your membership gives you to all of the Greener Camping Club sites throughout the UK. We pride ourselves on the size of our pitches, the cleanliness of our toilets and the constant supply of hot water that our showers provide. We accept that we might not be the cheapest camping option for solo travellers but feel that the majority of our reviews reflect that standards we aim to achieve. Thank you for understanding the ethos of the GCC and we hope to welcome you again in the future.

Liked: Everything! The campsite was so lovely only 5 pitches so nice and private. Compostable toilet was our first experience and thought they were great! No bad smells! Owners were extremely accommodating and friendly. Easy to find Nice walk to the beach Close to shops - 5mins to asda & tesco. But down a nice country lane so you also feel like you are in the middle of no where on your own private campsite. Fire pits were a nice touch and purchased logs from Dave the owner. We can’t wait to return again!

Liked: It's a small site, only 5/6 pitches and not all have electric hook up, but this was perfect as it meant the site was calm even though it was full. The owner was so friendly and helpful, offered to help us set up as it was our first venture in the van. Amazing eco-friendly toilets and HOT water in the showers (get in early so it doesn't run out, though!). We loved sitting in the quiet and watching the wildlife, and will definitely take advantage of the firepits next time. It was only a short walk into town to the nearby supermarket (we ran out of wine!)

Disliked: Close to a road so you can hear cars going past a lot, but it's not hugely intrusive anyway

Liked: This is our third year coming to Dowlais and we come back because we love it here. There's always a friendly welcome and the small but beautiful orchard provides the perfect number of pitches for space and privacy and not feeling overlooked or crowded at all. The facilities are always in lovely condition and the birdsong in the morning is charming. The eco-friendly approach is also appreciated.

Liked: Lovely sight , all facilities clean, pitches large enough for van and awning, site owners very helpful couldn’t do enough for us. Unfortunately duetoweather we had trouble moving vehicle in and out of pitch but they were there o help within minutes of us calling. Great location nice walk uptoeach and marine lake.

Liked: Host was very friendly, relaxed and accommodating. Facilities were very clean, showers were great! Nice hot water and excellent pressure. The site itself was beautiful, situated amongst apple trees - lovely!
