Great pitches Wonderful staff Clean, warm facilities
Powered cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite
Liked We had an absolutely wonderful Christmas here.
The pitches are great, we pulled in and there is a lovely barn area with christmas lights which was a lovely touch.
The facilities are clean and well looked after - heat in the toilets was a huge bonus as obviously December is a bit chilly and really takes the edge off.
They are unisex but didn't make any difference to us at all.
The shower was working and hot with plenty of room to dry off, hang your bits up etc - all of the areas, bins, barn etc are great and kept really well.
We had a wonder around with the dog and the huts and domes also look amazing to stay in!
The owners were lovely and went above and beyond for us, thank you both very much - we enjoyed every moment of our Christmas here. It was peaceful and a lovely way to spend a first trip out in our new to us campervan.
We will definitely be back - maybe when it's a bit warmer and can explore some more :)
Disliked Nothing at all.

Disliked Both the toilet and shower blocks had no exterior lighting, just as well we had a touch.

From the manager: I’m sorry about the lights we try and use solar lights as much as possible. We will check them to make sure they are working
Tranquil site with excellent facilities. Perfect to switch off.

Liked My second time here and since last year the site is even better - which takes some doing. Fundamentally, the location, tranquility and the facilities make this a special place. The new single sex toilets in the barn are the only improvement I could have asked for from my first visit, so that was me sorted! The new wash up room is lovely too. The showers were, as last year, excellent.
Both times I’ve stayed have only been overnight but the fact I drove 3 hours here and then 3 hours home the next day is testament to how special it is. I just needed to get away from all the noise for a bit. Sitting by the lake at dusk, chilling with a couple of beers, was the perfect therapy.

Quiet, well managed with good faculties and local shops/pubs.
Powered cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite
Liked A fantastic site… very well managed, clean, great facilities on fantastic nature reserve grounds. Local shop selling fresh food just a few minutes walk and a pub just under half a mile. Really enjoyed the stay and can’t wait to try it out again in the summer. Highly recommended.

Great location just right for both the coast & local towns
Powered cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite
Liked This site is very pleasant & quiet. The facilities were well kept, clean & tidy with hot showers.
There is a good walk around the lake to walk your dog.
Pitches are spacious with both gravel and grass which is well maintained with plenty of distance between pitches.
Staff are helpful & friendly.
There is a well appointed convenience store just down the road.
The site has minimal lighting so the sky at night is full of stars.
If your looking for a restful campsite this is the place to go.
Disliked Nothing comes to mind.

Great facilities, very clean. Friendly and helpful owner too.
Powered cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite
Liked Lovely large pitches and very well maintained. We booked all of the motorhome pitches as a group. Weather not great but it didn't stop us having a great weekend. We cooked in the new kitchen area in the beautiful barn and were also able to sit round a big table in the barn together.
