Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Everything! Couldn’t fault it. Hot showers, lots of toilets, cleaned all the time, very tidy site with the large bins. Taps and sinks all around the toiletries areas, washing up stations, plenty of hand soap, mirrors, lit up at night too! There is a large freezer available for use (shared), handy for storage. Always had toilet paper!! Plenty of space in the field, the owner comes round in the evening, once you’ve checked in via text to have a chat. Dog friendly, quite flat ground. Great area to drive 10-30 minutes away from various local attractions. Would really recommend for a great ‘inland’ campsite. Was absolutely perfect for me and my boyfriend. Toilets are unisex but honestly was not a problem at all. Plenty of toilets and 5 showers, never saw a queue for showers. Friendly, and family oriented, quiet time is after 9pm but it was very chilled the entire time. Local petrol station and farm shop 30 second drive away. Very well looked after, one of the best campsites I’ve been to for a very good price. Will be returning again!! Thank you :D

Disliked: I wish they had availability outside of August bank holiday weekend! Service comes and goes on my phone (with Tesco mobile), my boyfriend is with EE and had more luck. Better service on the other side of the field closer to the entrance/ middle, we were on the far side, but that’s first world problems for us youngsters!!

Liked: Lovely wide open space and beautiful surroundings. Quiet on site as well with plenty of space between pitch-ups. Lovely owner too.

Disliked: Ground was uneven. But didn't both us at all and something to keep in mind another time.

Local attractions

The main draw around here is of course the Jurassic Coast World Heritage Site – and what a stretch of shoreline it is too. Take a 10-minute drive to Osmington to poke around for ancient fossils, or head a little further east for the 15-minute drive to Lulworth for boat rides, kayaking and coasteering trips around the Durdle Door stone arch. There’s a fine stretch of sand here too if you’d rather settle in to admire it from afar. Walkers can take in the finest sights by striking out on the South West Coast Path: there’s 96 miles of it in total but even short strolls will reward you with fine views. Meanwhile, if it’s a classic seaside day out you seek, it’s worth taking the 20-minute drive to the sandy beaches and traditional amusements at Weymouth. And aside from the coast? Well, there’s much more to entice you into a day trip: Mill House Cider Museum (five minutes’ drive), Monkey World (10 minutes), the Tank Museum (10 minutes), the Sea Life animal park, ancient Corfe Castle (20 minutes) and Abbotsbury Swannery (35 minutes) are just a few of your options…
