Local attractions

Bridport is a wonderful market town with a busy street market on Wednesdays and Saturdays. It is renowned for its food shops - there are many independent bakers and butchers in the high street as well as interesting small shops, pubs and restaurants. There is also a thriving arts and music scene (Bridport Arts Centre and the Electric Palace). West Bay is walkable from the farm (about 40-60minutes along footpaths). The coast here is part of the Jurassic coast and the walks and views are well worth a visit. Other nearby places of interest: Charmouth (fossils); Lyme Regis; Dorchester (Dorset's country town); Bridport Museum (free entry); Bridport Leisure Centre (swimming, squash, badminton, gymnasium); Freshwater (bowling - not in August).
