Twelve acres view in summer (added by manager 11 jul 2023)

  • Small rural campsite with spectacular sunsets and countryside views
  • Half an hour’s drive from Lulworth Cove on the Jurassic Coast
  • Private woodland walk and access to public footpaths and bridleways
Twelve Acres Dorset is a scenic site sandwiched between a couple of areas of outstanding natural beauty: Dorset and Cranborne Chase. It’s a top place for unwinding in the countryside while being within driving distance of the Jurassic Coast. Popular stretches of sand like Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door are half an hour by car from the park, a spot set in more than 10 acres of land overlooking meadows and woods. You won’t need to go far to find areas for ambling around as there’s a private tree-lined walk on site and immediate access to a network of footpaths and bridleways. Set off on strolls, then return in time to see the sunset – they’re said to be spectacular hereabouts. Wanders by the River Stour are also to be had from Blandford Forum (10 minutes’ drive), which is the spot for scooping up essentials from the local shops too. Fishing, horse riding and vineyard tours are a few of the other activities to try in the local area.

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked: We loved how much space we had.. We were able to park wherever we wanted. The grass was well maintained amd mostly level with the help of wedges.. The views are stunning. A big plus for us was the site allows fires ( in a firepit) You can't beat relaxing by the fire. The owners Louise and Dean are absolutely lovely and couldn't be more helpful. They allowed us to take our time packing up the next day which is a God send when you have kids.. We can't wait to go back. It was so peaceful, just what we needed.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked: The site was really quiet, it had no toilet / shower block or EHU - just as we wanted. The owner (Louise) greeted us when we arrived and showed us around the site. The pitches were spread apart - you can park anywhere you want in the field. Some parts are sloping but we had no problem finding a flatish part and with levelling blocks had the motorhome level in no time. The views were amazing both at sunrise and sunset. Louise brought over some rosemary when we arrived and a cucumber and basil during our stay. There are lovely walks around the site - we saw three deer on one walk. Will definitely be back.

Disliked: Nothing
