  • Luxury eco cabin set in its own private glade
  • A short drive from Exmoor in the North Devon UNESCO Biosphere Reserve
  • Within a woodland setting managed as a nature reserve
Come and hide away in the woods at Bulworthy Project, a luxury eco cabin in a woodland nature reserve a short drive from Exmoor and 10 minutes from Tiverton. The cabin has been handbuilt by the site owners, partly with wood gathered as part of the Project’s sustainable forestry programme. It’s set in its own private glade in woodland hailed as ‘a mosaic of habitats’ by the Devon Wildlife Trust and managed as a nature reserve: this is part of the North Devon UNESCO Biosphere Reserve too, so expect to see quite a few critters – but probably no humans – when you go for a woodland stroll. Bulworthy’s cabin is off-grid, using solar panels to generate electricity for lighting, the coolbox and the USB sockets, and a woodburning stove to heat water for the ensuite shower and to keep the cabin toasty. There’s also a kitchen for guests’ use, and a barbecue and campfire outside: Exmoor is a Dark Sky Reserve so the stargazing around these parts is pretty spectacular. Off site and for supplies, a community shop is at the local village Rackenford, as well as a pub serving food from Wednesdays to Sundays… and much recommended by the Bulworthy Project team.
