Valley View primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: We loved the showers and facilities (especially the dishwasher). The location was perfect, unfortunately the pub wasn’t open but otherwise this was a wonderful campsite. The staff are really friendly and it’s perfect for a short stay.

Disliked: Would love some more water sign posts. Might have been us but we missed the tap closest to our tent.

Beggar's Field powered gravel and cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite (water hook-up)

Liked: What an amazing place! Some of the roads around this area may test the faint hearted, in motorhomes, but gosh it’s worth it. The site is immaculate, the facilities are plentiful with great showers and hairdryers. Superb walks and ‘awesome’ views. For those with dogs, an amazing enclosed exercise area. The icing on the cake is the super friendly and helpful team of people who work there, a massive thank you to the guy in reception who I spoke to lots but never got your name, sorry! You really helped make the most of our 2 days with you, and visit some of the best bits of the area. 100% recommend this amazing park, we are already planning our return visit, thank you again!

Beggar's Field powered grass tent, campervan or trailer tent campsite

Liked: A very clean site, great facilities with helpful staff and a friendly atmosphere 😀

Disliked: It’s a shame the pub has closed next door and that the food van hadn’t opened yet as too early in the season.

Bay View primitive grass tent or campervan campsite

Liked: The best campsite we've stayed at so far. Absolutely beautiful scenery and a beautiful site. The facilities are incredible - dishwasher, sinks for washing up (bring a plug though), family bathrooms (shame these were all out of action when we went though), lovely clean shower/toilet areas, showers with changing area within the cubicles, well situated mirrors with hairdryers (could do with some plugs though so we could use our own appliances), water points dotted all around, lovely little dog walking areas and the staff were very friendly. Can't wait to visit again.

Disliked: The only negative is that we had trouble pitching the tent as the ground was rock after a couple inches of grass meaning it was difficult to get the pegs in.

From the manager: Thank you for your fantastic review! We're thrilled to hear that you consider us the best campsite you've stayed at so far and that you enjoyed the beautiful scenery and facilities. We're sorry to hear about the inconvenience with pitching your tent due to the rocky ground; we'll take note of this feedback. We appreciate your understanding and patience. It's great to know that you found the facilities incredible, including the dishwasher and family bathrooms, We'll do our best to ensure all amenities are fully operational for your next visit. We're also glad to hear that you appreciated the thoughtful touches like the well-situated mirrors and hairdryers. Thank you for mentioning the lovely little dog walking areas and our friendly staff; we'll be sure to pass along your kind words. We can't wait to welcome you back again soon! 🌿🐾🌟

Local attractions

Guests here have plenty of attractions and activities on their doorstep in and around Lynton and Lynmouth (five minutes' drive). For a novel way to travel between the two, try the funicular cliff railway that connects the twin towns. In the surrounding countryside, you can marvel at the geological formations of the Valley of the Rocks (10 minutes) or head out to the forest around Watersmeet (15 minutes) for waterfalls and an elegant Victorian tea room. Many head to this part of the country in search of outdoor pursuits, so sporty types may well be pleased to learn that Lynmouth Holiday Retreat is close to a stables (10 minutes), fishing lake (20 minutes) and golf club (40 minutes). To really get that blood pumping, hike some or all of the 14 miles along the coast to Combe Martin, a hilly stretch of the South West Coast Path that includes this trail's highest point. You may, of course, prefer a day lounging on the beach (and with beaches like these, who can blame you?). Top seaside towns nearby include Minehead, with its rockpools, and Ilfracombe with its castle and aquarium (both half an hour away).
