Picturesque campsite complete with panoramic sea views, café, bar, farm shop, horse riding and cider orchard. Oh, and plenty of goats... Situated on 160 acres within the heart of Exmoor National Park, campers are encouraged to take advantage of our relaxed, rule-limited approach, allowing you to pitch wherever you fancy. Sheltered corners and wide open spaces are aplenty, suiting everyone from couples to large groups. Sweeping sea views greet every patch of our working farm, while CAMPFIRES and DOGS are actively encouraged. If the views bring you, it's the inclusive facilities that'll keep you. Two blocks contain 10 toilets, 7 unlimited hot showers (a MUST try!), laundry facilities, washing sinks, fridge/freezer & a microwave. There are also freshwater standpipes in each field and a chemical disposal point. However, sometimes a hot shower doesn't hack it. That's where our converted stone Barn Café comes in - complete with Wi-Fi & charging points. Open all day every day, 'The Barn' provides an oasis away from the elements, where you can enjoy everything from breakfast in the beer garden to a three-course dinner by the woodburner. If DIY campfire cooking is more your style, we also have a fully-stocked farm shop onsite providing all the essentials and much more too! Drinks? There's only one choice... a pint o' Caffyns cider. Homegrown in our 3000-tree strong orchard, located next to the campfields, our apples go from picking to pinting without leaving the farm. From sweet to scrumpy varieties there is no better way to try this land's fabled beverage than in our cider bar. For the adrenaline junkies, onsite horse riding allows you to sample Exmoor's scenery from the saddle. Catering to all experience levels, from beginner to advanced, our range of rides (1hr-3hrs) gives everyone the chance to explore the local area from a different perspective. A 10% discount is given to those staying with us! Wandering through Caffyns' acreage will introduce you to some of the other friendly farmyard 'locals'. From having a gossip over lunch in the goat cafe (?!) to sharing llama jokes with the alpacas, there's more than enough farmyard natter to keep you occupied. Chickens, turkeys & sheep are all dotted throughout the farm on the way down to the South West Coast Path right on our farm's perimeter. The nearest beach is an easy 20 minute walk away (Lee Bay) while Woody Bay, the Valley of the Rocks, Heddon's Mouth and many other coves are all within a short walking distance. Lynton & Lynmouth is the nearest town, just a 5 minute drive away.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked They still accommodated campers even with all the wet weather and explained clearly how they would like the pitch to be positioned to keep the ground from being ruined. They have a well stocked shop. Lots of home made cider and the meals were excellent. For a weary traveller it was a welcome rest. Showers and clean toilets block and considering the weather we’ve had that’s an achievement.

Liked Staff were an absolute 10 for customer service. All really lovely and so helpful.

There’s a great little shop on site which has everything you could need and they also cook you fresh bread the following day if you order it.

There’s also a cafe with AMAZING cakes etc, we got sausage rolls as well and would go back for that alone! Also picked up some fresh farm eggs.

Very spacious site and lots of animals etc and access to walk down to the tarka trail. Will definitely go back.

Disliked Not really a dislike as such but the shower block isn’t heated.

There is no phone signal (wifi is available at the shower block and main buildings). Again absolutely fine but worth bearing in mind if you need access to your phone :)

Liked Everything! Epic location. Lovely hosts, all the fun of the farm. Horse riding, bar and cafe were all enjoyed. We had the best time. Can’t wait to come back.
