Liked: Large pitches in well looked after site - partly down to lovely, blues guitarist, resident caravan owner, Phil. Our pitch was not as level as we thought and needed to chock the front up quite significantly, so take your spirit level as it will depend upon the size and width of your caravan Beautiful views towards the South Downs. Very peaceful and tranquil. Fantastic dog exercise field. Owner, Jane is a lovely, friendly person with a lot of knowledge about the area. Her husband,James, is also very friendly. Given that they have never been caravaners and inherited the site when they bought their neighbours farm, 18 months ago, they are doing well. Information leaflets and maps in the wash-up area came in very handy as a starting point before looking on Google. Lots of beautiful places to visit within easy driving distance- including the privately owned, vehicle free, exquisite village of Clovelly, just about 4 miles away and Port Isaac, where Doc Martin, is filmed about 40 miles away. Facilities are basic with one toilet, sink, and shower in a wooden shed and another separate toilet in another shed. Both are clean and warm. The Farmers pub in the local village of Woolsery (Woolfarnisworthy) is a short drive away. The restaurant is quite expensive but the bar food menu is reasonable. Just be aware that the farm road up to the site is quite narrow but, taken slowly, is OK.

Powered grass campsite
Liked: Lovely, small campsite with fantastic views over the countryside. The owner stayed to greet us, despite us phoning ahead to say that we were running late due to breaking down, and she was very understanding about our anxious dog barking through the van window when we arrived! As the park was quiet, we were able to spread across 2 pitches, giving us lots of room. Clean and private facilities, warm shower, washing up facilities. Enclosed dog walking area which was brilliant for our GSD who got some off lead time!

Liked: Friendly hosts, plenty of helpful information, stunning views, clean, well cared for, very dog friendly, peaceful and quiet
Disliked: No hand basin in the second (smaller) loo/toilet (Though hand cleaner gel was provided) - Seriously - that is my only complaint.

From the manager: Thank you for your lovley comments. If you like to wash your hands rather than the gel we do have a sink avaliable in the kitchen which is not too far from our little loo.

Liked: Our second visit, and was just as good as our first. We absolutely love this little gem of a place. Utterly blissfully peaceful are the best words to describe it. Away from the modern hustle of life, you can truly relax and unwind here. It was lovely to see Jane and the warden again, both as friendly as ever. Fabulous hot water in the toilet/shower room in the warmed cabin, such a treat which you don’t get at bigger campsites. Big, level pitches- hard standing with grass also, plenty of space between pitches. We love that this place is so rural which makes it so peaceful, the most we heard was a lamb, that it is a super small site so no big groups making a noise and that it is adults only- bliss away from the children 😍
Disliked: Having to leave.

Liked: This is a wonderful little site. Pitches are perfect. Views are wonderful and facilities are excellent. Water, drainage and electric on pitch. Toilet and shower looked excellent, very clean and modern, even a spare toilet to use if shower is being used although we did not use them as we use our own facilities. There is also a kitchen room which has a spin dryer and microwave to use at no extra cost. Outside there is also a rotary wash line to dry washing. Electric is also included in the price. One of the best small sites we have stayed at. The site is also within easy reach for days out to some extremely beautiful coastal resorts. Its an extremely quiet site, only the sound of birdsong to hear. There is also a small village nearby which has a very good shop.a fish and chip shop and a pub which has a good restaurant.
Disliked: There was absolutely nothing to dislike about this site

Liked: Peaceful and truly wonderful views of the countryside. Jane met us upon arrival - owner/farmer and Phil was very welcoming too -he’s a regular at the site. Facilities are basic but very well maintained and fully functional. All the facilities you need and the peace and tranquility you desire. Highly recommend this wonderful little jewel. We intend to return again to expire amthe wider area as we only stopped one night as we were going to Clovelly which was about 3/4 miles away.
Disliked: Honestly- there’s nothing to dis-like here. There is no WiFi but good 4G phone signal. Good tv reception too if you have one. Approach road to camp is narrow but we managed with our 7.1m MoHo.
