Liked: The pitches well spaced
Disliked: The double gate the latch is heavy and awkward to lift. The facilities are basic and would like warm water to wash up. No hand wash facilities after using the toilet. The shower could be a little more private as I was not planning on staying at this site I did not take a swim suit so could not use the shower although I was for most of the time the only one there. Luckily I was visiting my mum who has a great shower! There is road noise both from the main road and the road going past the site.

From the manager: Hi Sue, thank you for your review. I totally understand that this was a last minute booking for you but please, read descriptions of places before coming and also then leaving dislikes about exactly what we advertise as. We are a nearly wild camp site with most of your dislikes listed in our Pitchup description so that people know what to expect. We do have hand wash facilities at the double sink situated next to the toilet, we also provide hand soap. The solar shower is listed in our description as an outdoor rinse off shower.
Nice spot for the money, but I’d prefer to be closer to nice beaches

Liked: Lot’s of space … big gaps between pitches. Nice big green meadow. Close to nice pub (5 mins walk up road) … quiet neighbours. As it’s only me and I’m very self-sufficient in my van, I always appreciate not being charged the price for a whole family or being charged extra for a van when I take up way less space than people with cars and tents!
Disliked: Close to main Truro-Falmouth road. For me having the drone of a main road in the background slightly spoils the intention of going camping… The beach close by isn’t really a beach… it’s a launch area for lots of boats and gravelly. Not suitable for swimming or for kids. You need to drive a lot further for a decent beach…

From the manager: Hello, thank you for your review and appreciate your opinion. Although we are a mile away from the road you can sometimes hear the low traffic noise coming up the valley with the wind in the right direction, however this does mean that you are central to go exploring. Loe Beach is a watersports centre as mentioned in the description, however we often swim here and bbq on the beach as it has a beautiful view of The Carrick Roads. Falmouth has some of the most beautiful beaches in Cornwall and is only a 20 minute drive from the Meadows. Thank you for your honesty and we hope you enjoy your travels.

Liked: We recently had the pleasure of staying at this fantastic glamping site in Cornwall, and it exceeded all our expectations! From the moment we arrived, we were blown away by the stunning location and the excellent facilities provided. The location of the site was simply perfect - nestled in the heart of Cornwall's breathtaking countryside, we were treated to panoramic views of rolling hills and lush greenery. It was the ideal setting for a peaceful and rejuvenating getaway. The tranquility and natural beauty that surrounded us made for a truly unforgettable experience. As for the facilities, they were nothing short of excellent. Our accommodation was cozy, comfortable, and beautifully designed, providing us with all the amenities we needed for a luxurious stay. The attention to detail was evident in every aspect of the site, from the well-equipped cooking facilities to the comfortable bed and the ability to be able to charge your electrical devices using the solar panel charger. We felt pampered and well taken care of throughout our entire stay. We ended up booking an extra night as we had completely fallen in love with the place! I mean there is a pub a two minute walk from the site, what’s not to love about that!! In conclusion, our time at this glamping site in Cornwall was truly exceptional. The combination of the stunning location, excellent facilities, and top-notch service made for a memorable and relaxing getaway. We cannot recommend this place highly enough and cannot wait to return for another unforgettable stay in the future. Thank you to the team at this wonderful glamping site for providing us with such a perfect retreat in the heart of Cornwall!

Liked: We loved the campsite. The meadow is beautiful. The pitches were kept mowed and were well spaced out. The composting toilet, sink and shower were kept very clean and supplies were regularly topped up. We liked that caring for the environment seems to be at the heart of everything being done.
Disliked: Nothing.

Liked: The adventure. Didn't wanted to put any rate at first because it was either 5star considering that factor or not even one if you're expecting a campsite. You have to anyway so 2 is pretty bad and I don't feel good for those guys starting this campsite but I can't do more... sorry for them. Only place I could find to camp near Truro.
Disliked: There's actually the absolute minimum of what a place to camp should offer, but can you call it a campsite tho. I wouldn't pay that money again (which was the most I payed for one night in a week trip camping in Cornwall) for not even having walls to the shower, it was windy and the water was barely falling on me while I was in 😅. And I should've kept a bathing suit on if there was other people. Really too bad because the shack the toilets are in is really good looking and functional. The pitches are just mowed part of a before cultivated field, this is not that much of a con, other places around have such a perfect grass compare to. It was definitely alright to put the tent.

From the manager: Hello We are described on Pitchup as exactly what you have written as dislikes. We are a basic campsite with basic amenities, we purposely put photos of our outdoor rinse off showers so people know before they book what they can expect. Yes we are a previously cultivated field, we are trying to encourage a wild meadow so cutting of our grass is important, and also very important not to do when we've had torrential rain such as what we've had here in Cornwall this past week. I'm sorry you felt that it wasn't for you, we had previously discussed via text the situation with our campsite so I'm unsure what you were expecting when you arrived. The shower is clearly photographed in the description on pitchup. I'm glad you enjoyed the adventure. Thank you Penelewey Meadows
