Upper Meadow Hay powered cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite (pet friendly)

Liked: Having stayed at this site last year, we decided to book again for a second year. It was really lovely, peaceful and quiet. The owner greeted us as we arrived at the entrance and showed us directly to our pitch. We were set up in no time. It’s a lovely site , central to most attractions in Cornwall. I would definitely recommend this site for people that would like a peaceful break at very reasonable prices. We will definitely come back in the future.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike

Upper Meadow FHU cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite (pet friendly)

Liked: This site is lovely, quiet and calm, with a fantastic dog walking field. You wouldn't have really known how many dogs were here as they all seemed relatively well behaved. Ie no dogs barking all night long. We stayed for 3 nights. Toilets and shower room clean and tidy. We had upper hard standing pitch and it has plenty of room. Supermarkets nearby and we enjoyed a day out at lappa valley railway too. Highly recommend this adult only site.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike.

Liked: We had a lovely spacious pitch with good views (not overlooking a neighbouring pitch). The site was well kept and the cleanliness of the shared facilities was good. Again the dog walking field was well attended and staff were friendly and helpful. We had a good stay.

Liked: The Quietness of the campsite. The 6 acre field to let the pooch run around was brilliant, Doggo loved it.

Disliked: having to put the Van Awning on the hardcore, will need to invest in a Pneumatic hammer to put in the tent pegs.

Local attractions

Circled by farmland in the centre of west Cornwall, Chacewater Park is in the middle of England’s UNESCO-listed tin mining lands. If you’re coming to this Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape region by public transport, you can easily catch one of the regular bus services from Truro, Redruth, Penzance or St Ives. Driving? The park’s minutes from the A30, meaning the sandy, cliff-backed beaches on the county's north coast, like Portreath, Saint Agnes and Porthtowan, are reachable in no more than 15 minutes. Up for walking? Join the Mineral Tramways Coast to Coast Trail, running from Portreath to Devoran on the south coast, and follow in the footsteps of horse-drawn trams from days gone by. Low-key wanders can be had at Tehidy Country Park, a 15-minute drive to the north, in 250 acres of woodland and lakes with nine miles of trails. To up the pace a little, you can get in a round of golf on the course under 15 minutes' drive away – or ask the site’s friendly staff to help you organise a boat ride on the River Fal.
