  • Cornwall farm site with views of St Michael’s Mount
  • A 10-minute drive from St Ives, Penzance and St Michael’s Mount
  • Bus stop outside; pigs and rare-breed sheep on site; pubs close by
From boat trips and burrowing down at the beach to delving into tin mines and tidal castles, you should be able to make the most of Cornwall’s sights from Castle Brea Farm. A 10-minute drive from St Ives, Penzance and St Michael’s Mount, this family-friendly site is well within reach of both the north and south coasts. You’ll have one acre of land to explore here, and some friendly neighbours to meet. Goats and sheep live in the nearby fields, so you may see them up close. The farm is also home to pigs and some rare-breed Boreray sheep you won’t catch in many places. As for facilities, the pitches have shared shower and wet room facilities (including toilet, rainforest shower, Belfast sink and washing machine). With St Ives and Penzance so close by, you’ll be in with a decision when it comes to dinner time. Perhaps you may want to find a spot by the sea so you can witness the sun set over the water. Alternatively, there are a few places closer to the site, including a café within walking distance of the site for earlier in the day or a pub 35 minutes’ walk away. Those of you who’d prefer to leave the car behind at times may also be happy to find that there’s a bus stop outside of the farm, making it easier to get to and from the nearby tourist spots.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked: The farm animals were amazing and kept our children entertained during our stay. The views were spectacular. Beaches near by were stunning! Staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Disliked: Only having access to one toilet and shower is a little impractical when it’s all in one room, leading to very lengthy waiting if the site is busy.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked: Wonderfully clean, beautiful views, nice and quiet area!

Disliked: My one very minor dislike was that there’s only one shower and one toilet, and yep you guessed it, they’re in together. There were 2 families and a couple on site at the time. And whilst the couple blow dried and straightened their hair in the one area she could do so, my little boy (aged 4 and a half) had an accident. So yes, I would absolutely stay again but, I would ensure it wasn’t peak season because this was really upsetting for him.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked: Beautiful camping site with amazing views. Fantastic for the kids as animals on the farm which they loved. It also felt very safe so the kids could run around the camping site area. Great to have the fire pit which was a hit in the evenings to toast marshmallows.
Shower was great lovely and warm. Also brilliant to have a microwave so I could sterilise baby’s bottles. All in all a brilliant time was had!

Disliked: As others have noted it is a bit tricky having only one toilet and in the same cubicle as shower as I imagine when site is full you might need to wait. Wasn’t much of a problem for us as site was quiet.

From the manager: Hi, we’re glad you had a great time! At the time of your stay we we’re fully booked, as the idea with our campsite is that we don’t overcrowd and keep numbers to a minimum. So the toilet and shower situation is only ever shared between three groups. Hope to see you again soon! Many thanks, Castle Brea Farm

Perfect for families. Hosts were so lovely. We only live 10 mins away,
