Powered grass tent or campervan campsite

Liked: Very good pitches all placed together as there were three different sections of family. The facilities were ok. Showers were good and toilets nice and clean. The shop was a bit sparse and expensive but the chap who was running it and serving in the shop was very helpful and polite and friendly. The children loved it. They were out playing every night until 10 pm and made lots of new friends. The only downside I found was that I was in a tent and the grounds were not flat so it made it difficult to sleep. The pitches should be made flat which would improve the site a lot. However , a really enjoyable stay and great friendly staff.

Disliked: Slanted land for tents. Shop was a bit sparse and expensive.

Powered grass campsite

Liked: Stayed in pitch 2 Family friendly. Within 5 to 10 minutes to shops and resturants Clean pitches with lots of bins. Everyone whilst we was there was very respectful and no noisy party's running late. Mens bathroom was clean but a bit outdated. Nice play areas for the kids even though again, a bit outdated.

Disliked: Lights in the bathrooms are set on a pre set time. Meaning it's very dark in there during the mornings and early evening. My wife mentioned there were locks missing from the ladies toilets and the flush pressure wasn't great so there were presants in the from other people. The mens had locks and the pressure was fine.

Powered cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite (twin axle)

Liked: Location. Friendly welcome.

Disliked: Cramped pitch, with just enough room for our tourer and awning, and our van isn’t huge. Our car had to be parked elsewhere and we had no room around the pitch. Pitch messy and unkept, grass long and ground pitted. Everything crammed in, someone arrived on the pitch next to us with a huge tent, they were a within a metre of our van. Facilities dated and very small but clean. Overall the site looks and feels tired, and in need of some tidying and love. Much, much better sites to use for the money. We left a day early sadly.

Primitive grass tent or campervan campsite

Liked: Nice view from our pitch. Welcoming staff.

Disliked: Pitches were very close together. Barbed wire from an old fence, partially grown into the woodland surrounded our pitch. Not nice to look at and not safe for children. Only portaloos in our field that were not kept very clean. No rules so loud music played late at night. Can hear road traffic.

Local attractions

National Trust - Godrevy (10 minutes’ drive) includes a rugged stretch of coast where you might admire daredevil surfers riding large waves. If there’s no action in the water, you can explore the clifftop paths, take in the views and see birds like skylarks and choughs (and the occasional seal). Whether you’re after seaside attractions or a spot of culture, St Ives (20 minutes) delivers. Sandy Porthmeor Beach sits in the shade of Tate St Ives, with its collection of modern art, and only a short walk from the Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden. The town itself, with its narrow alleyways lined with stone cottages, is also well worth a little exploration. Cross to the south coast to visit St Michael’s Mount (20 minutes), a small island off Marazion Beach that can be reached on foot at low tide. Explore the medieval castle and the subtropical gardens, and take a boat trip back to the mainland.
