Liked: The welcome by the friendly owners, who were willing to help with any of our questions about the local area and bus timetable. The site is really close to the bus stop for all local attractions, which made it easy to get to St Ives and Penzance. The pitch was flat and in a wide open space, so we didn’t feel hemmed in by other campers. All the usual facilities were available and in clean and good condition.
Disliked: There was a little noise from the road, but really this wasn’t a problem. There is no footpath along the road, which made the walk to the bus stop feel a bit hazardous. However, on the return journey, the bus drivers were all very helpful and dropped us off at the gate to the campsite. The facilities were none permanent structures.

From the manager: Many thanks for taking the time to write a review. We are glad that you enjoyed your stay with us and found the facilities clean. It’s great that you used the local bus service, which recently has been rerouted and now actually goes past our gate and will stop to pick up and drop off passengers, which saves the short walk to the bus stop. Unfortunately we do have some road noise at times when the wind is in a certain direction and the road is busy, but glad you didn’t find this a problem and you will recommend us to your friends and visit again in the future. Jayne and Mike

Disliked: Perfectly fine but no soul to the site. Maybe because it was end of season? Some road noise.

From the manager: Many thanks for taking the time to write a review. We are glad that you found the pitches to be a good size, the facilities clean and that you were in a great location. We are sorry that you left us feeling that our site had ‘no soul’, but we welcome your honesty and completely understand that we won’t be everybody’s ‘cup of tea’ and there are some who will not want to return to us. Liked: Office: Very welcoming on arrival, all information given. Tent pitch: Very spacious, level, excellent area for children, very well marked and area clearly defined. Toilet/showers: Very clean, very user friendly, excellent facilities Whole site: Very well marked out, good segregation between tents/campers etc. Cost: Very reasonably price for the area and it was the nightly rate which was a deciding factor in us choosing this site over others. Food: Food vans (breakfast/pizza etc) are available at various times. We didn't use these but they looked amazing and we definitely factor in using them on another stay. For a personal reason we asked to move to a different tent pitch - this request was accommodated as there was space available. It was no hassle for the owners and it made us feel very valued and listened to.
Disliked: As it is a working farm, the cockerel is very loud from approximately 0430 each day. This is to be expected on a working farm but I would have thought it would be closer to 0600/0630 than 0430. Nothing to do with the site or the owners but just something to be aware of when booking.

Liked: Lovely place. Great access to some amazing beaches. The guys that run the site were friendly without being overbearing, and were really happy to make your stay pleasant. There’s an accessible shower which is awesome as my daughter has mobility difficulties so showering was not a trauma enducing experience! Proper chilled. Oh, with a wetsuit wash hanger which is pretty essential as the beaches nearby have good waves.
Disliked: Nothing to dislike really. Would be great if it stayed open all year for those of us who live just that bit too far away to access the beaches in one day but that’s me being selfish.

From the manager: Many thanks for taking the time to write such a glowing review. We are bowled over by all the amazing reviews that we receive. We do our best to give all of our guests a great stay and it’s great that people like yourselves take time to write reviews. We are glad that you found the easy access shower useful and had a chilled stay. Unfortunately Cornwall doesn’t have the climate to stay open all year and our ground just wouldn’t survive. We do hope in the future to have some hard standing pitches that would enable us to offer a longer season. Although we do look forward to a winter break and some sun 🌞 after a busy summer so would need to close at some point 😁 Jayne and Mike

Liked: Brilliant spot
Disliked: Showers turned off at 10 pm . That’s the only downside
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: Thank you for your review. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and would visit again, despite the showers going off at 10pm. 😁. Turning them off at this time of night not only stops the misuse of them, but also allows Mike to spray them with a cleaning fluid that works overnight to thoroughly sanitise and leave them spotlessly clean ready for the morning rush. It’s great that you would stay again in the future. Jayne and Mike
