Power optional grass campsite

Liked: The campsite is very lovely, has great amenities, the owners are super helpful and looked after us very well. After the rain washed us out we stayed in an old converted American school bus on site which was fab. Becky and John were so accommodating and made us feel very welcome.

Disliked: Too much rain haha. Nothing to dislike. Brilliant dog and family friendly site close to beaches and Bude

Power optional grass campsite

Liked: Second time staying here so must be good! Good facilities and location just north of Bude. Another nice week - we had a mix of weather during the week but made the most of our stay anyway. Will be back I am sure!

Millook 1 bedroom shepherd's hut

Liked: We stayed in the Millook shepherds hut for the second year in a row and couldn’t fault a thing! The new owners are so friendly, campsite is immaculate and we will definitely be returning next year! We travelled with two children and a big group of friends and all very much enjoyed ourselves.

Power optional grass campsite

Liked: Everything was 5* the owners were amazing so helpful and polite. The site has all the amenities you need shower block, toilets, disposal etc. Everything is clean and well kept easy to use. The site it's self is so beautiful and only 5 10 minutes from shops and Bude it's self. There is a park and swings for the little ones a nice but steep walk for dog owners. Have booked my next time already as thoroughly enjoyed my visit.

Disliked: Nothing.... Wish I stayed longer

Local attractions

Start any stay here with an immediate jaunt into Bude – there’ll be something here for everyone. There are splashing times to be had on the town’s Widemouth, Crooklets and Summerleaze surf beaches (all about 10 minutes’ drive from base) and with a few hours of coasteering, paddleboarding or swimming in the sheltered sea pool. Anyone who prefers to stay on dry land can visit the heritage centre in Bude Castle or pass by the town’s oldest house, Quay Cottage. Keep one foot in homes of the past by tripping around stately piles and seeing how the one percenters of yore lived hereabouts: within 45 minutes of base, wandering the halls and rooms of Hartland Abbey, Pencarrow House and the Lawrence House Museum comes highly recommended. The stunning cliffside ruins of Tintagel Castle (believed to be the place where legendary King Arthur was conceived) and the pretty RHS Garden Rosemoor are within 40 minutes for easy scenic strolls and explores. There’s plenty to keep kids entertained too: The Milky Way, The Big Sheep amusement park and trips on the Launceston Steam Railway are within half an hour. If longer car rides aren’t a problem, Crealy Adventure Park, Exmoor Zoo, the Blue Reef Aquarium and the fab Eden Project are a little over an hour away.
