Liked: N/A
Disliked: No one on site to meet us and offices and entertainment building locked up and looked like a building site . After 30 minutes of waiting and trying all the numbers we phoned the emergency number where we were given the code to get through the gates . The hardstanding pitch we booked looked nothing like the photos . We were in an overgrown field on our own . We decided to leave as we were very disappointed with the site after a long drive to get there.

Liked: It was very quiet ! The toilets were clean .
Disliked: No one to let us in so we didn't know the code ( luckily a new employee who hadn't started work there helped us ). It wasn't the site that I had seen online ...no bar , restaurant , shop or even owners ! Nothing for children to do , not even allowed ball games or to cycle . The hairdryer doesn't work . The most expensive site I have ever stayed on in Cornwall ( as locals we camp alot around the county ) with no amenities .I will go back to the £7 a night site that has exactly the same amenities but has a bar ! Money needs to be spent and a bit of care and attention .At the moment it feels like an army camp with no soul .At £32 for one nights camping ....nope .

Disliked: Didn’t stay. They are closed down. Campsite or Royal Resorts (group of sites) didn’t see fit to call me or let me know. Chasing refund.

Liked: This was the worst holiday we have ever had. The site was closed. It was also unmanned. The toilet and shower block were unclean a not serviced. There was some random stranger staying in a static caravan that finally gave me a barrier code to get in with. We looked up the site after on Google and found out it’s apparently gone into liquidation. This £250 your offering to win should be my refund and compensation. Far from happy
Disliked: As above. No likes at all.

Disliked: Had to wait 30 min to get the code for the barrier as there was no one onsite to let us in. Had to phone several times to get through to anyone but the person on the phone was very friendly.

Liked: Having almost an entire campsite to ourselves.
Disliked: On arrival at 3pm we could not get pass the entrance barrier with no answer on the intercom. The site reception was closed and no staff could be found on site, made multiple phone calls to the 2 numbers provided, mobile number went straight to voicemail each time 2nd number was a call centre where I got through to a person who said they’d put me through to the site and cut me off, a couple more attempts and I got back through to them where they told me they would look into it and phone me back… they never did. During this time another couple who had also booked via pitch up arrived, they had also began trying to get in contact with the site owners. After about 40 minutes the other couple were able to obtain the access code for the barrier. With nobody around to tell us where we should go we chose our own pitch and set up camp. As it was only us and the other couple we had plenty to choose from. Luckily the power was on and the wash room and toilet facilities were unlocked, these facilities could do with a bit of TLC and a deep clean but were usable. No shop on site as advertised. The following morning we were approached by a couple of maintenance staff who were surprised to see us there as they had been told by their management the site was closed for camping this year!!!

Liked: Nice views from the pitch and walking around a quiet site. Plenty of hot water in the shower block. A great site to visit Bude.
Disliked: Really enjoyed our stay but the hard standing could be improved slightly to avoid walking mud into the motorhome; that said we experienced exceptionally high rainfall and would definitely go to Widemouth Fields again.
