  • Serene and green eco camping over seven acres, a mile from Bude
  • Within easy walking distance of beaches, shops and pubs
  • Animals, veg garden, wildlife pond and forest garden
There are many reasons to make your way to Cerenety Eco Campsite: the laidback, friendly atmosphere, variety of animals and plenty of space to unwind are just a few. You may like to meet Red, the site's ex racehorse, who now sees out his days in the pleasant pastures, or the sheep and Heather the alpaca. If you like tortoises, they always appreciated being fed with dandelion leaves and flowers… and let's not forget about sitting by the wildlife pond, listening to birdsong and watching for the moorhens or the visiting heron. A 10-minute walk from the site leads to the South West Coast Path, where there's a little-known beach called Upton beach (wild, clean and great for rockpooling). In the other direction, take a short walk downhill to the canal. You could stroll quickly inland for a cream tea or take a one-mile canal stroll to the town of Bude and its two surfing beaches A huge amount of other first-rate things are on offer at this off-grid, peaceful and back to nature site: you may, for example, care to amble around the driftwood archways, play chess on the giant tables, or spy species around the wildlife pond… Or you could potter around the forest garden – and try your hand at creating your own – or just find your own peaceful place for lazing among the grass. Guests can pick herbs, fruit and veg at the vegetable patch and forest garden. Solar-powered showers and compost toilets are also on site.

Primitive grass tent campsite (small, two person)

Liked: Beautiful place to stay, very well kept and facilties were great and cleaned regularly. Host was very nice and helpful and the area had a nice little walk around with a pond and animals. Really cute friendly cat that joined us for dinner one night.

Disliked: A lot of the right side field was on a slope, so we had to camp on a slope which meant for a slightly uncomfortable nights sleep and things kept falling over, but it looked like there are areas on flat surface what were occupied that you can choose to pitch up.

Primitive grass campervan campsite

Liked: The view from the campsite.

Disliked: The toilets and showers are dreadful. No hot water in the morning for a shower or in the evening for the dishes. Groups of youth making a lot of nois and a campingowner who refuses to do something about it. How about serenity? Nowhere a flat spot to park a campervan.

From the manager: I very rarely reply to reviews but this is the exception. The 4 young women playing volleyball at midday on the opposite side of the field, very kindly stopped laughing, when I explained that for some reason their happiness, playing a game on the grass outside their tent in the sunshine was upsetting another camper.. Also, I made it clear to all arrivals, that the pump circulating the hot water was temporally out of order & apologised for any inconvenience it may cause until it was fixed the next day.. Lastly, the pitch was flat & didn't even require any levelling chocs. I am completely honest when describing the Campsite, that not all the pitches are level but this large corner pitch is often reserved in advance because it is pretty, flat & shaded by a lovely tree.

Primitive grass tent campsite (large, six person)

Liked: The setting that we were camping in was beautiful, with an easy walk into town and the beaches. The alpaca and sheep were very curious of everything that was going on, and the whole setting was delightful. We loved that you’re dog friendly, and the eco loos and shower block were a definite bonus. It was also brilliant that you are happy with people having fire pits. I would absolutely recommend you to other campers.

Primitive grass tent campsite (large, six person)

Liked: Plenty of space to pitch where we liked and have the cars next to our tent. Peaceful, laid back campsite and the owner was very friendly and helpful on arrival. The fire pit was free to use and the kids enjoyed having a lot of space to run around in. We liked the murals on the walls of the toilet/shower block too, a nice touch!

Disliked: No hot water in the showers (although the sinks had plenty).

Liked: Candy cares for the campsite. The facalities are very well looked after. I loved the painting in the shower block which seemed to be a converted stables. It was very tranquil, great location and seemed to attract friendly people
