Liked: We stayed for our first time at Kings Oak this weekend (26-28 July) with our three young dogs. It was a gift from our sons so we had no choice in the selection of campsite. We had such a wonderful, quiet and relaxed stay… lovely view, watching the cows and hot air balloons. The site manager Guy, was extremely helpful and knowledgeable of the local area, nothing was too much trouble. Lovely person. Large level pitch… perfect for setting up. We will definitely go back for another visit.
Disliked: Nothing to dislike

From the manager: Liked: Very friendly and helpful campsite manager (GUY)GUY also gave us a tour of the farm.If there is enough clientele, there is a small bar open in the evening.A very quiet campsite that we love.We enjoyed our stay Disliked: That shower room and toilet is one.Better would be a separate shower and toilet. Thank you for your kind comments, we are in the process of building seperate showers and toilets. and we look forward to welcoming you again later this year, I do hope you enjoyed the historic aircraft from the annual airshow nearby and that you took many photos of the Dakotas as they flew over your head !! Kindest regards, Ruth, Norman (Owners ) Guy ( Campsite Manager )

Liked: The peace and quiet
Disliked: Facilities could have been better for the price. We booked a grass pitch but weather had been bad so was just off the We farmyard. I think the majority of things advertised happen at the sister campsite/farm

From the manager: Sorry to read your review You will see from our overall rating a much better picture is painted about Kings Oak. I would like to put it on record plans are underway to install new WC and shower facilities. I think people forget this is a CL site. Not a fully fledged touring caravan site. Its basic nature is with the pease and quiet and the backdrop of my highland cows and rare breeds. Not sure CLs are right for you! It always amazes me that people have expensive motor homes and caravans with all the facilities on board and don’t use them. All kitted out for use on more isolated sites. As far as value for money is concerned this has drastically changed with the increase we have had to suffer with increased electric and gas costs. Always happy to negotiate with those that don’t want hook ups. Again a stay of one or two nights many vans are fitted with solar Sort to be so harsh but I think I need to reiterate WE ARE A CL SITE NOT A HOLIDAY PARK Unfair review and if you weren’t happy why did you not tell us face to face. Maybe I would have given you your money back and asked you to leave. Norman

Liked: The location, the farm manager Guy, who was so helpful and friendly. The animals and being in nature, with the main shops on your doorstep. Being shown around the farm. Peaceful and tranquil countryside. Adult only site Rare cow breeds
Disliked: Nothing

From the manager: Very many thanks for your kind comments. It has taken me years of training to get guy to be helpful and friendly!!! Hey but it seems to have worked. We are passionate about what we do, the animals take centre stage. Again thank you and see you soon. Norman

Liked: The lack of kids running around screaming and the farmyard. They were very accommodating in the aftermath of rain and a boggy field, managed to fit us all in the farmyard.
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: It is normally me that is running round screaming, that's what the staff are always telling me! Thanks for your comments and look forward to your return. If you liked it here in a very wet March, wait till you visit vin the summer on our superb grass pitches with the backdrop of our highland cows, rare breed Irish Moiled cows and a variety of rare breed sheep, sipping a cool gin and tonic watching some of the amazing summer sunsets. Norman

Liked: Lovely quiet location with cows and sheep as neighbours. Really helpful manager.
Disliked: No disabled toilets or showers.
Recommend to friends Visit again
From the manager: What can I say! I am speechless. No disable toilets or showers For Gods sake we are a CL site on a unique rare breeds farm. You should think yourselves lucky you had a toilet let alone a shower. We normally just hose guests off like we do the cows and let them wild pee and poo in the barns with the cows Gives everybody that real experience of being on a farm. Would suggest you need to choose your sites carefully and don’t include CL sites. Have you tried Butlins or Pontins, you don’t even have to tow a caravan. Surprised you did not mention the country lanes. Note you won’t be visiting again. GOOD! Norman Coles Farm Owner and head of public relations and customer services Roundoak and Kings oak farms
