  • Family-friendly camping on a New Forest farm near Lymington, Hampshire
  • Easy access to Lymington, Isle of Wight ferry, Beaulieu and beaches
  • Firepits to hire; bar, coffee van and coffee brew bar on selected days
Roll up families and friends – and bring your dogs (on leads). Teddy’s Farm is a sheep farm near Lymington in the New Forest, with pop-up camping fields set away safely from the roads and sheep nearby, woodland wildlife on site and views to the Isle of Wight on a clear day. Once camping’s done for the season everything reverts back to a working farm, so what you can expect here is an eco-friendly back-to-basics campsite with a few frills: compost loos, hot showers, a recycling facility and an honesty shop for any essentials you may have forgotten. There’s plenty of space to go around too (no cramming in around here) but no fixed pitches, so you can choose a spot that works for you. Light pollution is kept to a minimum at Teddy’s Farm, so there should be some splendid stargazing to be done (but just make sure you bring a torch to find your way around after dark). You can hire firepits and buy logs on site too – and on selected Friday evenings there’s a visiting bar and pizza van to boost your fireside time. (And on some days there’s also a coffee van or a coffee brew bar to help ease any morning grogginess…) You may also be pleased to hear that there are several pubs within walking distance too, for drinks and grub at the end of your day’s adventures.

Liked: Very friendly owner. Love the eco friendly "thunderstorm" toilets, didn't smell, kept clean, with good bum roll😆 Lovely showers easy to use with nice hot water and good pressure. Such an awesome idea having coffee bar in the morning, very helpful with good choice, maybe bacon sandwiches next time???

Disliked: A set of toilets near the showers would be useful.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: We have stayed at Teddy's a few times before and once again it far surpassed our expectations. Teddy, Alice, George and Henry were so welcoming, our boys had great fun playing with the other kids on the site, riding their bikes around, flying kites and playing skittles which had been set up by George and Henry. The showers were amazing and the coffee was fab and always served with a friendly smile and a chat with Teddy or Alice. All in all once again a fantastic break away at our favourite site and we will be back again next year.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Flat fields, super friendly, great atmosphere. Free choice as to pitch location. A mobile bar was there the first evening, and Teddies coffee bar open throughout. We had forgotten an air bed, having arrived in the evening.... and Teddy was quick to sort us out, kindly leading a mattress. Will definitely go back! Great location too

Disliked: nothing

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Very welcoming - large site split between 2 fields, both well appointed. Loved the barn ‘hub’ with coffee trailer/micro cafe/bar. Really nice host, very comfortable stay. Great showers. Easy access to water standpipes. Short grass, level field.

Disliked: Other guests not respecting the basics of composting loos (read the instructions!) - this was not the fault of the campsite though.

Whichever mode of getting around you choose, you’ll be sure to meet free-roaming cattle and the famous New Forest ponies Georgian-era Lymington (five minutes’ drive) is a lovely spot to wander, thanks to its yacht marinas, old-world pubs and cute indie shops. From there, you can take the Isle of Wight ferry (10 minutes) from the outskirts of town, or head to Henry VIII’s 16th-century Hurst Castle (15 minutes) for views of the island and The Needles rocks. The historic port of Buckler’s Hard (20 minutes) is where Nelson built his Navy, and today you can poke around the Maritime Museum or take a boat trip up the Beaulieu river. Close by is the National Motor Museum, Beaulieu (15 minutes), with its collection of priceless vintage cars. And if the history vibe isn’t working for you all, then skive off down to the shingle beach at Keyhaven (15 minutes) for chilled family fun.
