Primitive grass campsite
Liked: We had such a brilliant camping weekend here! The camp ground and facilities were excellent, clean and never crowded. I was impressed with the water pressure in the showers as well! My partner was all too happy to be able to watch the football at the little bar and I was very happy to have a little shop nearby with everything you could possibly need last minute - especially ice! I am always very happy to be able to have an open fire but was even more impressed with the way the staff monitor the fields after campers have left to ensure the fires are out. We had so much space around us to kick the ball around and play our music as loud as we wanted without bothering anyone. The staff were extremely friendly, as well as the other campers. Lush green grass, blue skies and great weather made for an even more perfect weekend in the outdoors! We cannot wait to come back and sleep under the starry skies again!

Liked: The play park was good for the kids and I loved the fact that you could have a camp fire. The walk along the river to The Castle Inn was lovely.
Disliked: The kiosk is a great idea but it needs more staff in the morning as it took an hour to get a sausage bap.

Liked: Very spacious site with good size pitches. Excellent shop with friendly helpful staff. Showers and toilets were cleaned constantly.
Disliked: There weren’t enough showers, toilets, and washing up areas for the vast amount of people. Having to wait for use all the time.

Liked: Friendly reception on arrival. All staff we met were cheerful, friendly, helpful. Food at Take-away was freshly cooked and delicious. QuirkyJakes Bar, especially the cocktails! Washroom and all toilets facilities spotless and replenished with soap/supplies. Lovely walks on the doorstep.

Liked: Couldn't wish for a more friendly welcome. All the staff were really nice and always ready for a chat. The pitch was a really good size with electric and water very close by There is a lovely little shop on site that also sells wonderful food. All fresh cooked to order. There is a man drives round late afternoon with logs if you want them, thought this was a great idea. Not that we were interested as a mature couple but there was a nice little play area for the children to play in.
Disliked: The showers didn't have shower curtains so you had to be careful where you put your things but this isn't really a hardship The wifi was a bit intermittent as with most camping sites. There are only two toilet blocks which means that there can be a fare walk for some as the site is huge.
