This quiet, natural site has friendly owners & roaming farm animals. Clean facilities with hot showers. Great for exploring Rye & historic sites. Can get muddy; some minor facility issues. One guest reported a chaotic check-in.

Small, friendly site. Lovely owners. Great for small children.
Powered grass and earth campsite
Liked This is a lovely, quiet and contained site. The owners were so helpful, friendly and great pre-arrival communication. Facilities were clean and well maintained. Pitches large and we loved the location of ours. This is definitely one for you if you like peace and quiet. By about 10pm it was almost totally silent. Added bonus for kids there are chickens, goats and a Shetland pony wandering around during the day which was fun.
We were intrigued by the dark sky promises on the website and it totally delivered on that. We had one lovely clear night and the stargazing was great. Very low light pollution. We enjoyed hitting the local footpaths and exploring nearby. It is also very easy to get to Hastings, Rye, Herstmonceux, Camber Sands etc so spoiled for things to do. Very impressed all around.
Disliked Not suitable if you wish to camp with friends as groups clearly discouraged in all booking information and in website. A little bit of a shame as would love to share the experience with friends. However, fully understand why large, noisy groups would be wholly unsuitable for a site of this size.

Relaxing Week Away
Powered grass and earth campsite
Liked We stayed for a week on Pitch 7. When we arrived (just after 2pm) someone was still pitched on our pitch as they had not left, not a biggy and this was sorted straight away with a phone call to Phil the owner who then came to see us. We had a relaxing and peaceful week away with our children aged 6 and 7. We loved the fact the campsite is small and quiet, it felt like you could hear a pin drop from 830pm onwards. We were very lucky to be pitched up to a lovely couple for nearly a week (in pitch 6), they chatted to us and our children and made the holiday even better, such lovely people. Showers (2 of them) nice and hot and plenty of toilets (4 of them). When we needed to text Katy and Phil they were always available and very helpful and we saw Katy when she came to see us a few days later to check all was ok. As another review has said parking can be tight especially if you have a lot of tents with cars more than motorhomes who can park on pitch. A lot of this is down to peoples parking though, especially down the lane near the bell tent, if everyone parked properly you would get more cars in. Outside the road is a 30 mile road so you can park up the street if you can't get parked, again not a biggy. We loved the animals and chickens roaming free in the day, this was a huge highlight for our children. All in all we didnt want to leave the site and had a fabulous week and would 100% go back.
Disliked Lack of parking spaces if busy.

Liked Quiet in an area close to Rye
Disliked Very sharp turn to access from a busy road
Hedges need to be clipped back and overall this camp site needs a big tidy up looks tired and uncared for
EHU cables draped along hedges and no circuit breakers

From the manager: Thank you for your visit and, in particular, for choosing to leave a day early due to the presence of blackberries, a decision welcomed by more than one of your neighbours, and one which helped make another great weekend for visitors to our unique and, as you say, quiet campsite. Thank you. As for your claim that there are “no circuit breakers” this is completely untrue. You just didn’t see them or, if it was an issue to you, even come and ask us where they were. We would have gladly shown you.

great owners but the toilets and showers need a good regular clean
Powered grass and earth campsite
Liked the Pony, and how friendly the owners were.
Disliked Chicken jumping up on our table while we were eating breakfast. Toilets bins always seem full, and the showers ran hot and cold. (the own mentioned issue with the local water supply while we were there. The shower also had a lot of light mould. As the walls and ceiling area needed to be sprayed with a anti mould cleaner weekly due to the high volume of use. Everything outside our tent in our eating area need clearing away and putting under our tent to stop the goats, chicken and ducks attacking it. lol
