Primitive grass tent, campervan or trailer tent campsite

Liked: The location was great. Out in the middle of nowhere with the sea on one side, the hills on the other and the wind adding the sound effects. The facilities were clean and worked perfectly. The owner was very friendly and relaxed.

Disliked: Nothing

Primitive grass tent, campervan or trailer tent campsite

Liked: simply incredibly great place! incredible views of the landscape, the city and the sea. You can also walk down to the city via the huge natural meadow, about 30 minutes. There are basic toilets and showers on site. but everything is great. plus a sensational price. Great

Primitive grass tent, campervan or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Beautiful site. Toilets and showers really clean and although my shower was on the cooler side I didn't mind at all as it was a hot day. I stayed with friends and we ordered some lamb burgers and gf sausages to cook on the fireplace and they were utterly scrumptious.. The views were spectacular, the swallows flying throughout the day were magical. All in all, if I could give more than 5 stars I would. Thank you

Local attractions

To see more of those views, get your boots on and head out onto the South Downs Way, which passes very close by. Hardy souls can tackle the route’s full 100-mile length, while casual ramblers can choose a shorter section. A popular attraction along the route is the chalk figure of the Long Man of Wilmington, a tall lad indeed at 72 metres. It’s a four-hour walk to see him, or you could drive there in around half an hour. Heading south, a 15-minute walk takes you down to the coast path, where you can continue your stroll to the stretch of shingle at Saltdean. The pier, beach and historic buildings of Brighton are around a half-hour drive away. If you’re feeling particularly active you can walk there in around two hours and then hire a kayak or paddleboard to take to the sea. If you’d like to see the place that inspired Virginia Woolf to wax lyrical about the area, visit her country retreat, Monk’s House, an hour’s walk from the site. There are family-friendly attractions galore around here, too – it'll take you around half an hour to drive to the steam-powered Bluebell Railway, or to Drusillas Park.
