Liked: Amazing views and absolutely loads of room. They gave us a fire pit to use and the toilets were the nicest I've ever seen at a campsite. There is a super cute dog that comes round the site on his little doggy adventures too.

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked: Fantastic view of the bay, lovely hosts, especially serving “scarbucks” coffee in the morning. Nice and quiet, really lovely micro brewery at the end of the road. The cleanest facilities block I’ve ever seen at a campsite.
Disliked: Difficult to get an entirely flat pitch, sacrifice that for the beautiful rolling field though. Cheeky dog broke into our tent looking for food friendly enough to tell him to go home though

Liked: Our stay at Scar Close was only positive. The on-site toilets and showers were always well kept and stocked with toilet paper. There’s an on-site wash up area for dishes which graciously had washing liquid. The owners were friendly and accommodating, and featured a coffee and croissant sale between 8am-9am which was highly appreciated by all (especially with the campsite being a 10 minute drive from Tesco). There’s plenty of level space on the field for all tents and vehicles even during the summer holiday/bank holiday busy period. There’s also a requested quieter time in the evenings, although silence isn’t enforced, so you can rest comfortably if you’re an early-riser. There was even some animals on site and we were fortunate enough to see the highland cows at the site! I’d highly recommend scar close to other campers who are looking for a lovely getaway!

Liked: This beautiful site has unrivalled views. And the owners are incredibly warm and welcoming and went the extra mile for us. The site is good for families and couples. The shower block is small and unisex but very clean and modern. Surrounded by forest which you are welcome to explore. We will definitely be coming back. Only open 60 days a year.
