Liked: We liked everything! Had a great experience: lovely owners, very much left to our own devices which is what we like, and the facilities were spot on. Compost toilet is great - not smelly like portaloos and far better for the planet. Farm track to and from the campsite was exactly what we expected. Location wise it was perfect, so much to see and do and we’d never get bored of these views.

Liked: What a lovely stay we had here. Wanted something a little off the beaten track and we found it- although still not far from amenities in Kendal. Absolutely lovely surroundings, a warm and friendly welcome and good facilities. The composting toilet was always clean. Views lovely. Lots of animal sounds around. Was surprised to find showers- apparently Pitch Up haven’t updated it- but there were two lovely spacious hot showers available, even with shampoo and conditioner! We were able to have an open campfire which was really nice. Would 100% stay again.
Disliked: Not really a dislike but more to be aware of - the road leading in is quite bumpy with lots of potholes so if you’re not in a 4x4, maybe plan to arrive with everything you need for that evening so you don’t have to go back out 🤣 We actually loved the drive down and the views.

Primitive grass and earth campervan campsite
Liked: The campsite itself was amazing, in the middle of no where which was perfect to get away from the hustle and bustle of reality ! The campsite organisation were great also! The ground was really wet (causing people to get stuck in their vehicles) they came out and placed stuff down so it was no longer an issue ! They also came around every day see how you were and if there was any issues or anything they could do to help. The facilities were very clean.

Liked: Beautiful views of the hills Large campsite Very nice owners Composting toilet with motion sensor light on the campsite Showers and a sink are a short walk away from the campsite Campsite ground itself is flat so no rolling down in your sleep Not far off the motorway, 20 minutes from Kendal 5 bars of 4G on O2 network
Disliked: Slightly rough road up to the campsite, but should be alright for most cars

Liked: Amazing views, and the camping space was great. Was able to contact site owner and was very chilled about everything
Disliked: Toilet facilities were very basic, just a portaloe. And had to park separately to the site and car things over a bridge to site, it was raining at the time. Track to site was a farm track, I was driving a new car, which was slightly nerve racking at times
