What customers say
Well-loved site! Praised for spotless, modern washrooms & helpful staff. Great on-site bistro with tasty, affordable food. Stunning location near beach & Hadrian's Wall. Construction noted but not bothersome. Peaceful & welcoming; guests want to come back.

Power optional cement/asphalt and grass RV campsite
Liked Nice clean facilities
Breakfast was lovely
Disliked Staff not as welcoming as I would have liked
Was woken on the 2nd morning by a group that had been let in last minute. Had car running very early and didn't respect that others were sleeping

Fantastic place, great bar/restaurant, brilliant shower facilities.
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked We loved this place, I booked this place by mistake but my husband said it was a brilliant mistake, I think the manager is called Michelle, she's also the cook, the host and so on but she can't do enough to make you feel any more at home, her garlic mushrooms are amazing and also her chicken leg starter, we arrived on our motorbike so didn't have any deckchairs and she even let us borrow a couple that were laying around. The showers and washing facilities are the best we've used yet. It's a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere and we can't wait to go back.
Disliked There was nothing we disliked about this place other than we got eaten alive by midges and the WiFi was terrible but for us that isn't a real problem because we tend to stay off our devices why we're away.

Really well located.
Power optional gravel RV campsite
Liked The facilities are fantastic. The shower room and loos are great. There’s even a gym if you want to pay a small fee to use it.
Well located too. Really interesting place and I caught the bus into Carlisle from just across the road.
Lovely people too.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Although we only had one night camping at Bowness House Farm, we fell in love with the place. We watched the beautiful sunset at the point of the beginning / end of Hadrians wall. (5 mins walk away) We walked around the village and chatted to the friendly locals, and were given a lovely background history, by a local lady, of the stunning church, and the stories of a couple of residents in the graveyard!!! Had a great evening meal in the restaurant and a couple of G&T’s on the Terrace….

Nice location, but we wouldn’t return to this site
Powered grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Calm and clean site with good facilities. We stayed as a group for just one night. It was a busy weekend with many people. As advertised, the site is small
Disliked I generally do not say anything negative, but the entire staff and the team was so hostile to our group. Restaurant food was not worth it at all. Sorry Michelle and team for calling this out, I don’t want others to have a poor experience like us

Liked Nice hard standing spot with grass overlooking the field. Toilets and showers very good and clean with another room for washing up and even a washing machine. Great customer service. Had my questions answered promptly. Friendly staff. Nice bistro and bar and outside seating. Short walk to the beach., great for dog walking. Overall, had a lovely stay.

Liked Everything!!
Would definitely recommend.
We used the gravel area with electric hook-up for camper vans. £55 for 2 nights with electric hook-up up. But from observation there were many other ways to stay.
The bar/restaurant is clean, service was excellent, menu was extensive and when delivered was plenty and hot, as eat in or take away to your own camper etc.
The toilet/shower block was clean, showers were hot, hairdryers worked.
The utility area had sinks to wash pots, drink water, microwave, kettle and washer/dryer.
We loved the peaceful surroundings.
Disliked Nothing!!
