What customers say

This quiet, no-frills campsite has a welcoming pub with great food and takeout. Reviewers enjoy the peaceful vibe, handy location near main roads, and flexible check-in/out. Pitches aren't level and grass is long, but it's good value for a pleasant stay. Toilets only open when the pub is.

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite (members only)

Liked Very peaceful and quiet at nighttime. Pub was very nice and staff were very friendly and professional. Only 5 pitches which was great. Water tap. The use of the pubs toilets when it was open.

Disliked Not a dislike. The pitches aren’t level by any stretch but that just added to the fun. For £15 it was secure and in a great location.

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite (members only)

Liked Arrive after 10am and leave anytime. No rules. Only a couple of people there. Stayed with tentbox on a van, myself and my wife. Lovely pub and staff, food lovely
Great little place cheap and quiet. I will go back

Disliked Only downside is there are no toilets or showers although you can use the pub toilets while it’s open. Plus the grass was a bit long would have been nice a bit shorter but no big deal really. Road noise quite loud at times.

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite (members only)

Liked Great location for us. Bus stop into the nearest town was only a ten min walk. We are at the pub the food is scrumptious. Staff are lovely and friendly.

Disliked Having to walk past the beer garden with people eating with a chemical toilet. That was the only thing that bothered us tho.

Local attractions

Fancy working up an appetite for your evening pie with a good walk or bike ride? Delamere Forest (20 minutes' drive) is a good place to start, with over 2,000 acres to explore and a Go Ape treetop course for those who'd like a bit more adventure. The six-mile Whitegate Way from Cuddington (15 minutes) is another good option for walking or cycling, and Marbury Country Park (five minutes) is popular with birdwatchers– look out for reed warblers and kingfishers among the woods and reedbeds. Keeping it local, you may like to explore places like the Lion Salt Works (five minutes), the country's last-remaining open-pan salt works, or pop in to Blakemere Village (20 minutes) for artisan shops, a miniature railway and lots of family-friendly activities (crafts, crazy golf, archery and falconry displays among them). Looking further afield, you could visit Chester (half an hour), for the zoo and the historic city centre, or spend some time in either Liverpool or Manchester (both about 45 minutes).
