  • Small, peaceful site in the pretty village of Norland
  • A five-minute drive to Sowerby Bridge; 15 minutes to Shibden Hall
  • Breakfast and afternoon tea available to order
Hob Hey Hideaways is a small site in the pretty West Yorkshire village of Norland near Sowerby Bridge, with gorgeous rural views all around and lovely moorland walks nearby. The site has been carefully set up for a restful break in the countryside away from everyday trappings… and within walking distance, there is a kids' playground, a golf course and local pubs. The set-up on site includes access to fresh drinking water and a smart toilet and shower. There’s a cubby kitchen which has a hob, microwave, kettle, toaster, fridge and freezer, as well as an honesty shop. The friendly owner is around on site daily to offer tips and advice; there’s no electric connection here but phone charging is available on request too. Special occasion? Send a note in the special requests box to order a farmhouse breakfast delivery or a splendid afternoon tea (for an extra cost).

Willow’s Wallow bell tent

Liked: Absolutely everything. Gorgeous site Beautifully clean bell tents Welcome bottle of prosecco!! Kitchen area fully set up Jo had thought of absolutely everything. She had even bought some new kids activities and games for the children Honestly - apart from 2 extra camping chairs - we didn't need to bring anything. There was full cutlery sets, tea, coffee, sugar, milk, a fire pit, logs available to buy, smores sets. Spare toiletries in the shower, the most beautifully smelling handwash. Jo has created something unbelievable here. The attention to detail was mindblowing. I don't think we would ever be able to stay anywhere else. She has set the bar high!!

From the manager: Thank you so much for your lovely review It was an absolute pleasure hosting for you. I do put a lot into the site to make this a very special stay for my customers. I’m over the moon that your first camping trip was successful, that the weather was so gorgeous and that you had your experience at Hob Hey. It was a special weekend with the Norland Scarecrow trail taking place. Thank you for choosing Hob Hey Jo

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked: Jo was the perfect host. Very friendly and attentive. The pitch was small and intimate with sheep and lambs in the next field which were lovely to see. The facilities were nice and clean and we were provided with a fire pit with the option to buy logs on site. There are some lovely walks on the hills above the site and plenty to do down in Sowerby Bridge if you want something more lively. We had a lovely view of the sunset and Jo has 2 hammocks available which would be fab for star gazing on a clear night :) We had the whole field to ourselves on our first night which was so lovely and proper chilled us out.

Disliked: Going home! ;)

Willow’s Wallow bell tent

Liked: Absolutely everything! The perfect stay. Location was great - not too far from a train station, pubs, and perfect for walks. The facilities - fully equipped kitchen didn’t need to bring anything apart from the food! The shower was amazing and clean toilet. Communal bbq to use was great! The tent we stayed in (willows wallow) was clean, comfy bed, also had everything that was needed at the tent also if we wanted too cook at the tent, and fire pit and logs provided! we added on afternoon tea which was phenomenal! Such an amazing place to stay and Jo the host was perfect, went above and beyond to make sure we had the most incredible stay. Thank you so much & we will see you again!

From the manager: What a fantastic review, I’m made up Liz and Adam were the perfect guests. Despite the British weather the weekend they stated they had a fabulous time. They both commented the sound of the rain helped them rest and relax and they didn’t even notice the weather. I am so pleased they enjoyed their stay and it was a pleasure hosting for them and making this the best birthday ever !!! Thank you for your lovely feedback and please visit Hob Hey Hideaways again.
