Camping pod

Liked: We hired 3 pods for my husbands birthday with my children and their partners. We also brought our two dogs. The first thing we noticed was an extremely warm welcome. Given information and advice about days out and where to eat. Everything looked so well maintained and clean and it didn't disappoint. A well stocked shop. Bought some logs and borrowed a fire pit. Which was delivered to our pod. Our pods were lovely. So functional (no tent to put up)! Bench and ring for dogs to hook up. Hooks outside for dog leads and kit. The site was beautiful. Beautiful scenery and not too full. The pitches are spaced out so its private for you and your family. We enjoyed sitting round on a night. We had beautiful weather which I know helped. We also saw the northern lights!!!! Honestly is our best holiday in this country for a long time. My children are grown up now and it was so special to have this time with them. They have said they'll bring their own family as it was a very family friendly site. Thank you for all your wardens. We managed to meet them all and we could see they were happy in their work.

Disliked: That we couldn't stay longer and that we didn't have time to enjoy their pizza night as we were out all day.

FHU cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite

Liked: Absolutely loved it 10/10. One of the best campsites we have ever been to. 360 degree views of the dales. Luxurious facilities. Spacious level pitch. Friendly staff and friendly fellow campers. Even got lucky with the weather too. Lots of walks to do right from your pitch. You will not be disappointed.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike really. If I was being picky, I couldn’t get the wifi to work on either of our mobile phones or cello tv. But the mobile phone data signal was very good so didnt need wifi anyway.

Local attractions

The Three Peaks of Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-Ghent in close range are a topping location for walkers – if you're here to hike, see if you can complete the Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge to tackle the 24 miles around all three in one day. Orcaber Caravan Camping Site is also near the famed Ingleton Waterfalls Trail for woodland-based walks among spectacular northern scenery, and within easy driving distance of the waterfalls, stalactites and tours of the spectacular White Scar Caves, the longest show cave in the UK. Also recommended by the Orcaber team are the Settle to Carlisle railway line, through 73 miles of spectacular countryside through the Yorkshire Dales and the North Pennines, and passing splendid Ribblehead viaduct. The limestone formation of Malham Cove, a famed Yorkshire Dales beauty spot, is also a popular local spot. Yet more walks, hikes and heaps more spectacular scenery are at the Lake District National Park, about an hour's drive away.
