  • A 10-minute drive to Filey, 15 to Scarborough and 20 to Bridlington
  • Heated shower blocks and laundrette, on-site essentials shop
A warm northern welcome awaits all comers at Lebberston Caravan Park, a multi-award-winning park set in stunning countryside 15 minutes’ drive from Scarborough on the North Yorkshire Heritage Coast. Edging the limestone hills of the Yorkshire Wolds, it’s a scenic spot for a peaceful and relaxing break – yet you can be on Filey Beach within 10 minutes’ drive. After a busy day building sandcastles or splashing around on the beach, let your children burn off any remaining energy on the extensive grassy area, where there are goal posts available for a kick around. The landscaped site has neat grass and hardstanding pitches of varying sizes – something to suit every budget – and facilities include three centrally heated shower blocks with loos, wash basins, individual wash cubicles and hot showers, as well as thoughtful extras like shaving points and hair dryers. In case there are any accidents or spillages while you’re on site, washing machines and tumble driers are free to use, and there’s also an iron in the laundry area. Forgotten something? No worries, chances are you’ll find it for sale in the on-site shop – where there’s bags of visitor information if you need a bit of inspiration for days out.

FHU gravel travel trailer campsite (XL, super)

Liked: First time visit to Lebberston Caravan Park, we were extremely surprised to find this little gem. Very quiet and extremely well run park, very clean with ample toilet and shower facilities. The super pitch we used was very spacious with plenty of room to fit our caravan and awning well within the hardstanding area and still have room for both our car and two other cars when our family visited us. The picnic tables on the large grassy area in front of the pitches is a nice touch as well. The staff are friendly and welcoming and extremely hard working, are happy to assist with any queries and provide any information regarding local transport etc. The park has a designated dog walking area but does not have a children's play area at this time. This may add to the quiet atmosphere where the only sounds we heard was the bird song, the tractor in a nearby field (on one of the days) and the grass cutter mowing within the park. Highly recommend this for people who want a quiet get away.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike in our opinion

Liked: Our 2nd visit here and again not disappointed. Lovely and peaceful, well maintained site. Stayed on the full service pitch. Had to use level ramp on one side slightly but not a problem, very big pitch size plenty of room. Shower block spot on. On our list for another return visit.

Disliked: Weather 🤷‍♂️

FHU gravel travel trailer campsite (XL, super)

Liked: Lovely friendly clean site. Great showers with plenty of room. Level fully serviced pitch.Good location with the bus stopping right outside the site which is ideal for us in a motor home. So able to go visiting all the local seaside towns. Good information room. There has been reviews saying that there is nothing for children, our children played with other children making their own fun and games which was lovely.

Disliked: Nothing really. There is a small drain to empty motor home waste. A drive over drain would be easier.

Liked: This site has excellent facilities, which are very clean and spacious. There is a great wet room for the disabled too. The site is very quiet and friendly, and has some beautiful views. Close to Scarborough, and a bus runs outside. We had a lovely time and will go back again for a longer stay.

Disliked: Nothing!

FHU gravel travel trailer campsite (XL, super)

Liked: The site was clean and tidy, smallish but well spaced out large pitches with a central ‘play area’. No children’s play facilities but goal posts and space to play ball games. My grandchildren aged 10 and 7 enjoyed returning from a day out to play with other children on the park. It felt quite ‘retro’ they made friends and were not sitting around on ‘screens’. The toilet and shower blocks were clean with hot water and a wall mounted push button shower. Two showers per block which felt OK for the number of pitches. Small shop on site for essentials. We thought the location was great for exploring the area and all it had to offer.

Disliked: Nothing to dislike at all, but on the day we arrived no staff around, fortunately the neighbours showed us how to reset the electricity.

Local attractions

You’ll certainly not have any trouble keeping the kids occupied. Head for the sandy beach in Bridlington (20 minutes’ drive), backed by amusement arcades, mini-golf courses and a swathe of pubs and cafés. For a more sedate day at the seaside, pack a picnic and walk along five-mile Filey Beach (10 minutes) and find a sheltered spot under the cliffs at Filey Brigg to sit and watch the waves. As well as the classic beach-side amusements on South Bay, Scarborough (15 minutes) has plenty of other family-friendly attractions: make a start in the wave pool at Alpamare UK waterpark, and progress on to the walk-through aquarium and penguin pool at SEA LIFE Scarborough. Wind up exploring the ramparts and 12th-century Great Tower at Scarborough Castle, standing on a headland with exceptional views over the North Yorkshire Heritage Coast. Turning inland, the chalk landscapes of the Yorkshire Wolds have walking and biking opportunities aplenty. Hike sections of the Yorkshire Wolds Way, or follow the circular Yorkshire Wolds Cycle Route to visit historic Beverley Minster (three hours by bike) and the speciality delis in the foodie capital of Malton (one hour 50 minutes).
