  • Small family-run park on a 200-acre dairy farm with stunning views
  • In Wrelton, a five-minute drive from Pickering and Sinnington
  • Walks and cycles around the North York Moors straight from the site
Centrally located, easy to access and with far-reaching views over 200 acres of fields – Keld Knowle Farm Holidays is a convenient and scenic site for ticking off the top attractions of North Yorkshire. This working dairy farm is in Wrelton on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, between the pretty villages of Sinnington and Pickering (five minutes’ drive). Wanders in dramatic landscapes can certainly be had around here, as you can head off on ambles or cycle rides right from the gates; one of the area’s best routes is a day-long journey through woods and fields with stop-offs at local watering holes along the way. Don’t mind driving? Destinations within 10 minutes by car include Pickering Castle, the North York Moors Steam Railway and Beck Isle Museum. Horse riding is available close to the park too if you’d rather trot through the countryside. Tuckered out after spending hours out in the open air? Return to the farm and settle in to watch the cows and tractors at work (safe in the knowledge you won’t be asked to give anyone a hand…). This family-friendly site also does the basics right with stone roads for smooth driving, handy electric hook-ups, a smart bathroom block with underfloor heating, and easy access to drinking water. A pub is in Wrelton for eats, and the village also has a bus stop and a play area; a well-serviced shop and petrol station are a couple of miles away in Middleton. Meanwhile, pizzas are available on Tuesday and Friday evenings throughout the high season.

Powered cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked Loved every bit of it there was home made pizza being made Friday night which I ordered they were lovely really nice. There are 2 lady toilets, 2 sinks and 2 showers they are push button showers but you have about 2 minutes before it goes of then you just press again there is also 3 coat hangers and a bench to sit on in the shower room. The men have the same, there is also a disabled toilet with a sink, shower, chair. The site is very clean although it is on a working farm we didn’t get any bad smells you heard cows in the night some time but didn’t disturb our sleep

Disliked Nothing really

Powered grass travel trailer campsite

Liked pitches were nice, although not as flat as would have liked, but that was probably because we were at the bottom of the site, toilets and facilities were immaculate, on the whole a very enjoyable 4 days.

Powered cement/asphalt travel trailer campsite

Liked Quiet, good facilities which were spotlessly clean, loved pizza night, central location for access to tourist attractions.stayed an extra two nights as we enjoyed it that much.

Disliked Minor dislike but nowhere to put shampoo etc in the showers, when the site is full you may have to queue for toilets and showers as only two for either gender.
Worth bearing in mind it is a working farm that will have some noise and country smells, as I live on a farm it wasn’t an issue but may be for some.

Local attractions

Hotspots in the local area include Pickering (five minutes’ drive), famed for a heritage steam railway you might recall from the Harry Potter films and Heartbeat TV series, and the postcardworthy villages of Sinnington (five minutes), Hutton-le-Hole and Thornton Dale (10 minutes). Take in all the cute country cottages as a precursor to the impressive architecture of stately spots like the National Trust’s Nunnington Hall (15 minutes) and Castle Howard (half an hour) before roaming around the Roman sights of York (45 minutes).
