Powered grass campsite

Liked: Elm Tree Farm campsite is a lovely small campsite which has good facilities, a friendly and helpful host in Gina and is situated in a good location. There are adequate facilities for the nine pitches, a small kitchen area and good hot showers which Gina asks for a £1 contribution. There is good Wifi across the campsite. Spurn Point Nature Reserve, local seaside towns such as Withernsea ( great lighthouse to visit and easy beach access ) and Hornsea ( excellent museum, good beach access and lake ) are short drives from the campsite. There are local walks from the campsite which can access the coast but beach access is difficult.

Disliked: Nothing

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Pleasant, small, and quiet site close enough to Spurn and the coast. Clean and tidy facilities. Gill, one of the owners, was good enough to walk the site asking people how they were.

Disliked: Bad weekend for mozzies.

Powered grass campsite

Liked: This is a lovely quite camp site. The owners are very welcoming. It's got showers and toilets on site, a nice little washroom to wash your pots etc in. You can order a breakfast sandwich for in the morning, delivered to your tent too, which was very nice. We choose this site as wanted a quite site and not busy, our Son is Autistic and learning disabilities he really strugles round lots of children, busy places, so this was perfect for us. We Will definitely be coming back again.

Liked: Gina was very friendly with good local knowledge. Quiet, clean, and tidy site that's very dog friendly. Gina also offers breakfast buns to your tent which we ordered and I must say was very good.

Liked: Very good small campsite not too far from Spurn Point. We arrived early but the owner was happy to cut the grass around our pitch before we put the tent up. It was good to have an electrical supply to the pitch. We have already booked again for August.

Liked: Beautiful location. Relaxing. Amazing wildlife, we found 2 newts under our tent when we were packing up. Both fine after a little lovering care. Lovely walk to Withernsea, amazing visit to RAG Holmpton. Spurn love lighthouse walk was awesome! Gene, our host supplies the best the best breakfast butties! Amenities were clean, hot water for showers. No need for any waiting for showers! Lovely small place if you love nature.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: When we arrived at the site we were greeted by Gina (the site owner) who explained to us where the facilities were located and what we could do in the local area. She was welcoming and checked in with us later on to see if we needed anything. We loved how the team make a chalkboard of what is on in the area to do, provided books for adults and children to borrow and a list of recommend places to eat. The toilets and showers were clean and so too was the washing up area - this was inside too. We didn’t use them but there was a fridge, microwave and kettle for camper-use and also a washing machine and dryer (at a small cost). The facilities are only a short walk from every pitch which made camping with a toddler a breeze. In short, it is a small family run, friendly and peaceful campsite and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to family and friends or to go back.

Disliked: Nothing!

Local attractions

Pitching up here means being within striking distance of the sea pretty much throughout your stay, whether you're wandering down to the nearest cliffs (half a mile) or heading to further off spots like the windswept shores of Spurn National Nature Reserve and its discovery centre (15 minutes' drive) or the classic seaside resort of Bridlington (an hour). Also by the coast, Withernsea (10 minutes) has a range points of interest that ought to keep you amused for a good few hours, with an intriguing inland lighthouse that stands in the centre of the town and well-maintained amenities at the Pavilion Leisure Centre, where you can take a dip at the pool or work up a sweat at the gym. Further afield, Hull's Museums Quarter (40 minutes) will be of interest to anyone interested in archeology or William Wilberforce and the abolition of slavery. While in town, the kids won't want to miss the sea creatures housed at The Deep aquarium; if they've still got energy to burn after that you can always take them ice skating at the Hull Arena.
