Camping pod
Liked: The pod was amazing and the price paid was great! I really liked the way that the lighting could be angled to keep light in some areas and not in others given all four of us were in one room. We liked the swimming pool even though the water was pretty cold and our 2 year old and 8 year old really liked the splash area and slide. We ate in the restaurant twice and enjoyed the food although it arrived suspiciously quickly and was average and our 8 year old had fun in the arcade and the soft play. The site was pretty with ponds, old buildings and historic features and appeared clean. It was also well located for trips to Hornsea and Withernsea. All staff that we encountered were friendly, responsive and helpful.
Disliked: There was a clear lack of maintenance on the site for the duration of our stay. The toilet and shower blocks were disgusting. None of them were cleaned or maintained for the duration of our break. The floors were constantly wet and muddy and rubbish was left on the floors. There was no soap/handwash or toilet paper provided and there were no hooks in either the WCs or shower rooms for clothes or towels meaning that things had sometimes needed to be placed on the dirty floor or hung on the door handle. There was no hot water in the unisex toilets and some things were broken. I think that the lack of attention to these facilities shows how the management clearly prioritise the caravans above the pods and tourers. Touring pitches have the option to book a shed with toilet facilities in it. The pod accommodation should be offered the same option. The showers in the changing rooms were not working at all even though a sign said they would be cold and that management were trying to fix this. Everyone should shower before and after using the pool meaning that the pool would have been dirtier than it should be even though it didn’t look it. The pool changing rooms also weren’t big enough for the amount of people and more family cubicles are required. Quite a few of the machines in the arcade were broken. The premium Wifi wasn’t available in our pod even though the website said that it would be and we looked a few times.

Liked: The sight was clean and tidy with well kept lakes and gardens. Nice walk to the beach
Disliked: The burger bar was well over priced and not very nice, plus being cash only was causing problems with some people. The music from the entertainment was way too loud as we had a 4 year old to try and get to sleep. We asked if we could fill up with water via a hosepipe and was told yes. Unfortunately there was no where we could do this unless you book a fully serviced pitch, same with the waste water. The swimming we were told it was for an hour but got asked to leave after 3/4 hour, plus the showers were very cold, again a 4 year old would not stand under it.
