  • Spacious off-grid pop-up site on a family-run farm in Norfolk
  • Just off the Wherryman's Way and five minutes from The Broads
  • Café, farm shop and swimming pool with showers a short walk away
Local grub, boating and wildlife-packed walks are quite the treat from Yare Camping, part of a family-run working farm on the edge of The Broads. Just off the Wherryman’s Way, a walking route through the Norfolk countryside, this spacious off-grid site is deliciously well-situated for delving into local goodies, paddleboarding, canoeing and boating on The Broads or walking to your heart’s content. Locally-produced foodstuff isn't far away here, as the site is a short walk away from a self-service farm shop laden with local eats, as well as a café and patisserie (perhaps for a morning coffee and a pastry). Down this way, there’s a swimming pool with showers available for hire subject to availability too. On site, you’ll have be in a good spot to take some downtime in privacy, thanks to the spacious pitches. You may have a dog by your side if you wish, as well-behaved canines are permitted. As for amenities, the site has drinking water and a basic toilet for convenience. While local waterside pubs with food and real ale are within five minutes' drive of the site, it’s not just foodies are catered to around here. Those of you who are keen on wildlife will be happy to find that Wheatfen Broad’s nature reserve is five minutes’ walk away. There’s likely to be more wildlife along the long-distance Wherryman’s Way, which has eight circular walks for walkers or cyclists.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked: A relaxing weekend in a quiet field with everything we needed. The farm shop was stocked with all the essentials and the patisserie offered a selection of beautiful cakes. A thirty minute walk away from the Rockland St Mary pub following a public footpath meant that it was a fab location.

Disliked: The toilet was very basic and there was no hand soap for the duration of the stay.

Liked: Exactly what we wanted - quiet site with a loo, and plenty of space. The self-service deli was fantastic - we'll make better use of that next time, as we will no doubt be back.
