  • Well-kept grass pitches at an eight-acre rural Norfolk site
  • A 15-minute drive to King's Lynn or the Norfolk coast
  • On the edge of the village of Clenchwarton; short walk to a food pub
Countryside, coast and urban outings are all on the menu for guests at Meadow View, an eight-acre site in rural Norfolk. The site is just on the edge of the village of Clenchwarton, with lots of lovely walks in the surrounding area, and it’s about 15 minutes’ drive from here to either the market town of King’s Lynn or the Norfolk coast. As the name suggests, pitches here are on grass – and it’s very well-maintained grass with hedging all around for a good deal of privacy (although this is very much a rural area, so you may well get a visit from some passing wildlife – or at least spot something in the distance). The atmosphere is all very rural and relaxing here, but there are plenty of amenities nearby for when you need them – that includes the village’s play area, mini supermarket, chip shop and pub, all of which are within a 10-minute walk (the pub’s won awards, by the way, and it serves lovely meals from Wednesday to Sunday…). The village also has a bus stop for easy jaunts into King’s Lynn, and the surrounding villages have several shops and eateries between them. This is a simple site that’s just got essential facilities like chemical disposal and charging points, so please note that there are no toilets or showers provided. Dogs are welcome, and provided with their own designated exercise area where they can have a good run around.

Primitive grass travel trailer campsite

Liked: What a hidden gem of a site, massive flat field, water and elsan great, everything was perfect, the owner was lovely, very friendly and helpful, even let us pet the horses.such a peaceful site if you just want to relax. we was worried at first with having 2 15 year olds that they would be bored, but about 6 mins walk up the road is a bus stop to King's Lynn, buses very good there and back.you can even get the ferry boat for about 2 pound from west lynn. The little village also had a pub, chippy and small morrisons. The chippy was absolutely delicious to. Honestly if you stay here you will not be disappointed at all.

Disliked: Nothing

Local attractions

The lovely market town of King’s Lynn is a good place to start – head into town on the bus or park in West Lynn and hop on the ferry across to the town centre. The historic town centre is a real treat, with lots of things to see, including the minster, the museum, the Custom House and St George’s Guildhall (a theatre where Shakespeare himself once performed). Keeping it countryside for a little while, you may like to go on safari to look out for native and international species at Watatunga Wildlife Reserve (15 minutes’ drive), get to know the big birds of Fens Falconry (25 minutes) or visit Church Farm (20 minutes) to meet farm animals and get stuck into activities like lamb feeding, tractor rides and pig racing. Or how about some time by the coast? The closest place to see the sea is probably The Wash Viewpoint, about 15 minutes’ drive away, and there are lots of other lovely spots a little further afield, including Snettisham, Hunstanton (both half an hour) and Brancaster (40 minutes). If you're heading that way, you could also stop at Sandringham (20 minutes) to see the estate Queen Elizabeth II loved so much.
