  • Quiet adults-only site surrounded by the Lincolnshire countryside
  • A 10-minute drive from Wisbech and 45 minutes from the Norfolk coast
  • Country and riverside walks nearby; shops and fishing in Wisbech
Country and riverside walks, market towns and the seaside… Tydd Gote Caravan Site is in a fair little spot to venture into the surrounding Lincolnshire countryside or hit the Norfolk coast, 45 minutes’ drive away. It’s adults only here, so you’ll be in for quite a quiet stay – with any luck, the right conditions to kick back and truly unwind. Dogs have a place at this quiet, peaceful patch too – and whoever you bring along, you’ll have well-maintained and well-kept grass to plot down in. To keep things clean and cosy, the site has a heated toilet and shower block with a dishwashing area. Country walks, yes please… there are plenty of places to walk (with or without an accompanying pet) around here, as the site is around six miles from Wisbech. Perhaps you’ll want to wander down by the river Nene to the swing bridge at Sutton Bridge (an hour’s walk away in total)? You could instead get into the car and set forth for Wisbech (10 minutes’ drive), a market town with a swimming pool, supermarkets, cinema, museums, a brewery, gardens – and, along the river, elegant architecture, old buildings or places to bring out your fishing rod. A little further away, Peterborough, King’s Lynn or the Norfolk coast are all within 30 miles of the site. But if you’re looking to scout out some local places to find a meal, there are pubs for that within five minutes’ drive of the site.

Liked: Greeted by very friendly owner who showed you around the facilities which were immaculately clean The pitches were generous Large hedges surrounding part of the area gave it a cosy feel and some protection from ensuing wind. The site was quiet and relaxing My dog loved the nearby walk where she could have a good run

Power optional grass and earth campsite

Liked: The site was the nicest we have stayed on. It was extremely clean and well kept and all flat pitches. The toilets and showers were first class. Spotlessly clean and looked after. Sue and Bob who owned the site were the perfect hosts nothing was too much trouble and the nicest of people. We will definitely be coming back at some stage.

Power optional grass and earth campsite

Liked: Lovely peaceful well maintained site. Toilet/bathroom/washup facilities nice and clean, plenty of hot water with a nice powerful shower (not button press). Site owners very friendly and helpful with local area/ takeaways if required. Perfect dog walk just outside of the back gate. Very secure site - key fobs issued upon arrival.

Power optional grass and earth campsite

Liked: We visited for one night en route from the north west of England (Lytham St Annes) down to Norfolk and for two nights on our way "back up north" with our touring caravan. The grass pitches kept in an immaculate condition. It felt more like pitching on a garden lawn than on a camping/caravan site. Shower block with two shower/toilet/washing facility rooms that were kept clean. There was a plentiful supply of hot water to the sink and shower. Lovely individual touches with various items of memorabilia and garden areas made for an even more interesting and relaxing stay. The site was secure with entry and exit via locked gates controlled by fob. Sue and Bob were excellent hosts. Nothing was too much trouble for them. They would happily engage in a chat or just leave you alone, whichever you preferred. I would definitely recommend this site at Tydd Gote, near the Lincolnshire/ Cambridgeshire/ Norfolk borders.

Power optional grass and earth campsite

Liked: We had a lovely weekend getaway here. The tent pitch was relatively private and had everything we needed for hookup and water availability. The setting is peaceful and beautifully scenic. The shower/toilet/kitchen block was really convenient, clean and more than adequate for the campsite. Our host for the weekend was Alan, and he was really friendly, helpful and welcoming. We’ve just upgraded to a caravan and will definitely look to return here. I believe the site is adults only so I have awarded 5 star for child friendliness as I hit the review and Pitchup wouldn’t let me clear and I don’t want to leave anything less than 5 stars for this stunning site.

Power optional grass and earth campsite

Liked: Brilliant! Warm and friendly welcome from Sue, who showed us around and gave us tea while we chatted! Lovely, small relaxed campsite, at the end of a lane...very quiet and peaceful. It feels very safe here. Beautifully kept with tidy, if quirky gardens. Showers immaculately clean. Care and attention from the owner is obvious. Felt like nothing was too much trouble. We didn't want to leave! Thank you Sue and Bob!

Local attractions

On your maiden voyage to this part of the land? There’s plenty to occupy your time, like the local golf course (five minutes’ drive) with its gym, bar and café food, the Springfields Outlet Shopping & Leisure (25 minutes) for a shopping free-for-all, or the Norfolk coast (45 minutes) for watersports. The local towns and cities are chock-full with a number of different activities, no matter your taste, too. Perhaps you’re waiting for market day in Long Sutton (10 minutes)? Or you’d rather make the most of all the entertainment in Peterborough (45 minutes), where there’s a shopping centre, cathedral, bowling alley, museums, cinema, retail parks and the Ferry Meadows country park? Ely (55 minutes) is another cathedral city to add to the count, with lots of lovely architecture and riverside bars and restaurants. Meanwhile, those of you with an eye for the wildlife will want to head onto the Watatunga Wildlife Reserve (25 minutes), where buggies and trails are the vehicles of choice for a wetland reserve safari.
