  • Family-friendly countryside park with fishery and reindeer
  • A 20-minute drive from Worcester; 25 minutes from Great Malvern
  • Seven fishing lakes; café on site for breakfast or lunch; pubs nearby
Picnics with local meats, cheeses and artisan breads? Reindeer, alpacas, goats, chickens and pigs Thelma and Louise as neighbours? Day trips to Worcester and the Malvern Hills? Tick, tick and tick? Then head to The Cob House Countryside Park, a family-run site in rural Worcestershire with a fishery, countryside park, café and resident animals such as reindeer. Pick up a traditional breakfast from the site’s fully licensed café-restaurant The Mayfly and then sort a picnic from the local meats, cheeses and artisan breads that are available in The Cob Shop. Once well-fed, you should be quite ready to take on the number of walking routes that start directly from The Cob House or the hilly climbs and mountain biking trails in the Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, half an hour’s drive away. If you’re around during the daytime, there are home-cooked lunches, cakes and afternoon teas available at the café. That's particularly handy if you're getting stuck into your fishing activities… that’s right, the site also has seven coarse fishing lakes (bring your own equipment and try your luck with some rather large carp). The Cob House Countryside Park runs events throughout the year, such as kids’ fun days, fishing lessons, model boat sailing (every Sunday), car boot sales, racing pigeon release, dog shows and fundraising days. As for essential facilities, the site also has a modern toilet and shower block. What about your day trips? Worcester is the closest city 20 minutes’ drive away and has the River Severn, Worcester Cathedral and heaps of interesting shops. Great Malvern, 25 minutes’ drive away, is a characterful town at the foot of the Malvern Hills too. For evening meals, there are several pubs within five minutes' drive of the site.

Liked Peaceful (but we did go during the week whilst kids at school), nice countryside views, great fishing, lovely clean facilities, Wardens on site helpful. There are Llamas, Goats, Chickens ,Pigs and a reindeer and 3 rabbits on site

Disliked Rain! Rain! Rain! British weather can be a letdown but it was the beginning of Sept. Nothing to dislike about the site apart from the price of ice-cream in the cafe - £4.95 for 2 scoops so just under a tenner for a couple visiting...ouch!

Liked Ideal if you don't like a big plot, or noise.

Disliked Not so much disliked but personally for our group, the canvervan area is in a square so your staring into everyone camp and everyone can see what your doing. There no noise after 10 and the kids were even told off for watching an outside TV.. the toilets are shut for 1hr but there was still cobwebs and the back of the toilets still had bits on there's massive spiders at night hanging around the doors to the toilets and there's a lovely flower station by the showers and wash room but there's massive weeds growing outside them 🤔 all in all not worth the money for us when we can fine somewhere with a lot more space for thr money.. owners are just trying to keep thr peace for everyone but its seems like a FUN KILL when your in holiday.

Liked Cob house is a beautiful rural site. There is plenty for children to do and space for them to play.
There are public foot paths accessible from the touring pitches.
The cafe serves refreshments and draft beer and cider and there was entertainment while we were there.
The pitches are flat and it is a short walk to very clean toilets and showers, water and Elsan.
There are wardens on site work very hard and ensure rule are kept to.

Disliked Very busy on the bank holiday. Very little WiFi.

Liked Staff were really friendly and helpful. Toilet and shower blocks were extremely clean at all times of the day and night. Lots of walks available from the sight for all levels of walkers.
Cafe on site served great food and drinks and again staff were lovely.
Friends were on the camping grass site which was much better than the hard standing.

Disliked Only three showers and three toilets for men and women on site, my husband had to queue on a few occasions. Unfortunately, while we stayed there were three large families who took over the site with games, motorised children’s vehicles, karaoke and projecting films on the caravan outside at night.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked Excellent shower facilities and good location. The cafe and park with animals to view were lovely.

Disliked Open to the public. I realise this was the choice of site chosen but I was part of a group so wouldn't choose this kind again.

Facilities is a good walk from the grass pitches.

Couldn't use wifi from pitch only from cafe.

Local attractions

Kicking things off with a good stroll? Malvern Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (half an hour’s drive) has options like a town trail, the Teme Valley path, Worcestershire Beacon and the British Camp trek. The Knapp And Papermill Nature Reserve (20 minutes) is not so strenuous, especially if you stop to sniff the wildflowers. It might be that you’re after something that’ll evoke the old times, and English composer Elgar's birthplace The Firs (10 minutes) should get any creative juices flowing. Witley Court and Gardens (15 minutes), a grand manor house, and Brockhampton (20 minutes), an ancient estate, make good spots for a picnic among historic surroundings. If you’re after some lively scenes, Worcester (20 minutes) has a cathedral, museum and a busy high street. There are events and shows year round at the Three Counties Showground (half an hour). Great Malvern (25 minutes) is a characterful spot too, with walks into the hills from the railway station, plus a town trail and regular farmers’ markets.
