Powered cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite

Liked: Not a lot really apart from the area of the Malvern Hills. Camp site was small which was good.

Disliked: Campsite needed the grass cut, it was calf length in places. The trees and bushes need cutting back. Brambles hanging down where you get the water. Grass so long couldn't see pitch numbers. Toilets and showers are a disgrace. Locks broken not cleaned at all during our stay and probably not done properly for weeks. The showers were disgusting tiles filthy no ventilation therefore mould on ceiling. Need tipping out a complete refurb. As for the electrics the pat testing was last done in 2012. The hair dryer cable was split and dangerous. Someone got an electric shock from the pitch electrics. They didn't even get their tent up and left. The waste are and washing up area were the same disgusting. The photos on here must have been taken a long time ago this is not a true reflection on the site. Pitchup needs to take this place off their website. There are too many complaints. I have read and saying they have had problems with cleaners and is now sorted is wrong. If you have problems with cleaners do it themselves. But there has been no cleaning done. The path around the site and to get to the facilities are very uneven large deep potholes. No lights are night. Could not get a wheelchair chair around site.

Liked: A lovely pitch in the end. People were really friendly around camp and the curry in the evening was superb.

Disliked: Our original site was in the car park next to some bins, but luckily found a spot in the garden. We would have left and not stayed if we hadn’t moved.all good in the end.

Primitive grass tent campsite

Liked: What a super little site. .I was concerned after reading previous reviews but needn't have worried...the owner explained that they had a problem with cleaners that has now been resolved. The facilities were spotless and I had a super curry in the pub. As a solo camper I felt very safe and welcomed. Would definitely stay again. Absolutely recommend

Disliked: Minor point but the grass could have done with a cut and that was my only constructive comment I could make.

Liked: Nice pub, handy location for what we wanted.

Disliked: Quite run down campsite, showers were grubby and unclean. Toilets dirty, one blocked. Door locks broken, rubbish and broken furniture left around. Grass unkept. No pitch markers, had to move pitch. Generally unkept and uncared for site. Booked for 2 nights but left after one night to another campsite after

Liked: Small site 3 miles from 3 counties showground. Pub do best curry we’ve had.

Disliked: Generally poor maintenance. Chemical toilet blocked. Bins and toilets not checked regularly especially with so many D of E students on site. 2 pitches had to share a 16 amp supply

Local attractions

After all those Malvern Hills hikes (for that really is a mighty fine menu in The Marlbank Inn), set off for indoor and outdoor days around the Malverns and its countryside. Days out for families include laser questing and ice skating at Ice Quest Malvern; taking the self-guided Spy Mission treasure trail around the hills, and pummelling clay into submission at Green Frog Pottery, 15 minutes' drive away. Kids – and grownups – of a certain sort might also like the Malvern Museum of Local History; if not, Ledbury's 19th-century Eastnor Castle has regular events including family days and sword fighting sessions (foam swords, you may be somewhat relieved to hear). Both museum and castle are 10 minutes' drive away. For a peaceful day out, drive 25 minutes to the meadow valleys, orchards and woodland of The Knapp and Papermill Nature Reserve, to look out for woodpeckers and nuthatches, dormice and bats (the reserve has 11 of the UK's 15 breeding species). Pick up a free trail leaflet or buy a family trail guide and information booklet at the visitor centre, to head out after another bite to eat in the picnic area.
