Primitive grass and earth tent campsite

Liked: The grounds themselves was great, the lake, woods and pub which had bouncy castle and soft play truck, was ok for the kids

Disliked: The showers didn't work, with 12kids under 10 this was a big issue for us. ALL ACTIVITIES was cancelled without it being said on site which was why we travelled further and paid more money, no boats, no zipline, there really wasn't anything on so we had to buy inflatable boats and stuff for the kids Todo in the 3nights we was there.

Primitive grass and earth tent campsite

Liked: The description explaining this site explains: "so, look forward to family-friendly pursuits like pirate ship rides, pedalo boating and games of nine-hole miniature golf (extra charges apply)." Although upon arrival I can only describe the site as "random" and really wish I'd read the reviews before booking. The site is quite expensive for what you get and even though it says there are activities, none of them were open. Don't forget to take earplugs before you go, as it's likely there will be a wedding going on with music playing until midnight. There is at most 2 working toilets - of which none of the toilets have locks on the door. One of the toilets was leaking, and to wash your hands as a woman you have to go into the men's toilets to get to a sink (where all the urinals are). Again for £11.50 for 1 night I've been to "better" for half the price. Please listen to the reviews for this place and don't bother if you have a tent.

Primitive grass and earth RV campsite

Liked: Beautiful surroundings. Food in restaurant was very good. Lovely staff.

Disliked: Poor toilet and shower facilities. Not very clean and in poor condition. Access to toilet/shower building via steps which were a falls risk as unsafe. Very dim lighting inside the toilet/shower building at night. Communal sink very dirty.

Primitive grass and earth tent campsite

Liked: There are some good activities onsite. Including peddle boats and a little train that the kids loved, as well as a bouncy castle by the bar

Disliked: Not much! Toilets a bit run down but not too bad. It’s a great no nonsense campsite especially if you have young kids

Local attractions

With the Bear Grylls Adventure at the Birmingham NEC (10 minutes’ drive), you'll soon get to brave new heights, whether it’s on the climbing walls, assault course or in the skydiving wind tunnel. At Planet Ice Solihull (25 minutes), you could don a pair of skates instead, and further towards the city centre, you can bounce your way over the obstacles at the Inflata Nation Inflatable Theme Park Birmingham. Those of you who are rather the history buff may want to visit the National Motorcycle Museum (15 minutes), the Coventry Transport Museum (20 minutes) or Royal Leamington Spa (40 minutes), a historic town with the splendid Jephson Gardens for peaceful lakeside strolls, an art gallery and museum, a library housed in an old spa complex and the lonely little Chesterton Windmill. If it’s more urban outings you’re after, Coventry (15 minutes) also has a go-karting track, air museum and nature reserve.
