What customers say
This popular, relaxed site's fantastic riverside spot is great for families. Ample space, swimming, campfires, and clean, if basic, facilities are highlighted. Some note rubbish, noise, and road-adjacent gate. Manager promises improvements.

Liked Tons of space! We had strong winds during the night but trees along the river protected our spot nicely. Kids loved finding the rope swings. Toilet sheds are big with plenty of breeze, perfect.

Has everything I want from a campsite, will return for sure
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Plenty of room (early April), unlimited pitch size and largely flat site. Nice shallow river for kids to play in. Shower and toilets, and a washing up sink, available in sheds. Fire wood available to buy. Relaxed atmosphere, the basic rules aren't restrictive like in some sites. I really like this site for a quick weekend camp.
Disliked Rubble pile (from track building over a marshy patch at entrance) currently visible, and a couple of tatty looking caravans in storage, detract from the overall nature theme. These weren't there last time I camped here, so might just be temporary - I'll see next time.
Road noise is clearly heard, if that bothers you. I only noticed it if someone was ragging it along with a popping exhaust.

Liked I liked the space and the quiet
Disliked The toilets weren’t maintained. Please if you could put some toilet duck next to the toilet. We arrived with poop splatter on the inside of the toilet.

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked Lovely campsite by the river. Plenty of fire pits available., can also purchase logs. 4 toilets/showerz
Disliked Quite a few aeroplanes flying over in the day. We had other campers set up right next to our tent and didn’t respect our space, even though there was plenty of space left in the field

Overall a really wonderful time and we will definitely be back.
Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked We stayed here last year for the first time and come back this year. We already plan to return next year again! We love being able to just disconnect from the world. Being able to have a fire to sit around is a big plus for us. It makes it. As well as being able to go down to the river and just spend time with each other as a family without added distractions. The kids absolutely love exploring and finding different ways down to the river and going in the river.
We just absolutely love it.
Disliked Minimal things not really dislikes because without these we still loved every second. Last year the hut was open serving tea and coffee in the mornings and on the evenings- we didn’t know this had changed so didn’t pack tea and coffee making things but really missed it. (Like I said nothing major and we got over it quickly 1st world problems really 🤣).
Parts of the grass was really over grown which at parts we had to walk through because of where pitch availability was. Again nothing major. But I was just very on edge of ticks because I know they like long grass 🤣

Primitive grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked - Plenty of space even at peak times
- Great location with Warwick and leamington spa within 15 mins.
- clean accessible river (too shallow and overgrown to launch a cayak / paddleboard from - but there’s plenty of launch points a short drive away).
- The toilets were always clean and stocked
- Warm showers in 2 of the toilets
Plan ahead for the fact you need to take the rubbish away with you - there are some local skips open every day.
Would definitely come back!
