Liked: Quiet fishing lakes site. Hard standing EHU + water on pitch. Elsa point. Toilet block spotless and large shower rooms. Disabled shower room with sink and toilet. Wash up sinks.

Disliked: Need squeedges in shower rooms as floor doesn’t drain well. Hooks or shelves needed in disabled shower room.

Liked: Really helpful owners as we arrived late due to traffic and they gave us the gate code over the phone. Good shower rooms, easy to use with kids and plenty of room

Powered grass campsite

Liked: Big pitches. You can chose your own pitch upon arrival. Clean toilets and showers which were also heated . Beautiful lakes to walk around. Lovely site.

Disliked: On downside for us was the off road buggy which I'm assuming we're the owners, was very noisy and came round every morning at 7am!! They also seemed to race round as if on a race track. Not ideal knowing there are young children around.

Local attractions

If you’re in the mood for a quiet picnic or woodland stroll, Coombe Abbey Country Park (15 minutes’ drive) is a 500-acre parkland made for whiling away a day outdoors. There’s also a play area, zip lining and climbing forest if the family’s up for an active day. Or you could always try out the angling here too if your break really is all about fishing. Entertaining the kids shouldn’t be too tricky around these parts either. Immerse yourself fully in the medieval world of dungeons, knights and princesses, jousting and falconry with a visit to Warwick Castle (35 minutes). Or scream if you wanna go faster at Drayton Manor Theme Park, home to rollercoasters, Thomas Land and a 15-acre zoo. Animal antics of all kinds are also order of the day at Twycross Zoo (30 minutes).
