Weir View powered gravel RV campsite

Liked: Friendly, small, relaxing site with great views.cleqn facilities. Great hosts so helpful. Dog friendly. Unique shower room. Fire pits available. Good WiFi. Good location in middle of nowhere where put close enough to town and pubs. The Bulls heas pub served great tasty freshly cooked food approx 20 min walk over fields as more local ones recently closed.

Bella bell tent

Liked: Lovely well equipped tent, really warm welcome as well. The site is set in a really lovely rural location with some really wonderful views and walks, a true place for some peace and quiet.

Disliked: Only minimal, some UHT left in the tent was off and there was only one toilet, neither of which were a huge issue.

From the manager: Thanks Oliver - Mom said was a pleasure to meet you both and please come again. I'm not sure how the uht milk got in there as we don't leave milk for people - I must have missed that when getting the tent ready as possibly left by someone and was hiding in the cupboard. With regards to the loo we only have a few pitches and the bell tent so it's absolutely fine. 😁😁 Kate

Wrekin View powered gravel RV campsite

Liked: Peaceful site, wonderful views, superb hosts, friendly cat, stunning peacock, unusual shower, in fact everything. We were even allowed guests to celebrate our daughter's birthday with a BBQ, a family tradition of the past 20 plus years. Just hope we managed to keep the noise down for others. Thank you so much to Kate's parents.

Disliked: Weather!! Thunder and hail on our arrival day, which caused a power cut for a few hours and meant a muddy walk the following day. All adding to the adventure!

Wrekin View powered gravel RV campsite

Liked: We were thrilled with the amazing views and campsite which was very well looked after. The campsite felt like home, with Kate, Stripy, Pea and Twirl making us feel welcome. The shower room was amazing, and reminded us of being back in our village in Malaysia!

Weir View powered gravel RV campsite

Liked: We had the weir view pitch and it was beautiful. The early morning mist to the sensational sunsets. Kate and her mum were lovely and had lots of information about the local area and other areas of interest. The shower in the stable was amazing. Lovely and hot and not on a timer. We sat and listened to the birds with a campfire and a BBQ. Just perfect. We made friends with the peacock the stripes the cat and occasionally twirl the dog. I would say it’s 1 of my favourite places to stay and will definitely be returning. Thank you Kate and mum for keeping this place so beautiful

Disliked: No dislikes 😊

Local attractions

The Wrekin can be seen from all around here and can be reached by car in about 10 minutes. There are paths up both sides of the hill, with one that's gentler on the knees and another rougher route for those that appreciate a good challenge. There are plenty more climbs, rambles and cycle rides on offer if you head 20 minutes or so to the south to the Shropshire Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty – Church Stretton (30 minutes) is always a good place to start. To the east is Telford (15 minutes) and Ironbridge (20 minutes), a UNESCO World Heritage Site with a proud industrial past. As well as the Iron Bridge itself, this scenic stretch of the Severn is home to sights as varied as Buildwas Abbey (20 minutes), museums dedicated to tiles and china (20 minutes) and Benthall Hall (25 minutes), a National Trust property. In the other direction, you have Shrewsbury town centre (15 minutes), where boat trips, history walks and independent shops are on offer. Alternatively, on the outskirts of town there are historic sites like Wroxeter Roman City (10 minutes), Attingham Park (10 minutes), a stately home with gorgeous grounds, and Haughmond Abbey (15 minutes).
