Power optional grass tent or trailer tent campsite
Liked: the view from the field was lovely. loved the red kites flying over. peaceful place
Disliked: portaloos and showers - they might be 'posher' versions, but they were not what we expected. This wasn't the cheapest place to camp and these were a shock. One of the toilet/shower units was quite a step up but instead of a step, there was only a little infant's plastic step, which is not designed for constant adult use. Though these were usually clean, once one was blocked and the bin over-flowing. Very unpleasant in such a small space. The field was almost all sloping. groups of campers carried on making noise past 11pm. On our second night a group was still making noise at 2am. The use of drones over the campsite The lack of information about where anything was - drinking water, chemical disposal, firepit disposal etc the unmetalled access road was very pitted and uneven

Bell tent
Liked: The site had great views, friendly staff and not too crowded. We were in a bell tent, with stove and firepit provided which was perfect for us. The children loved the bell tent and playing games outside. There were short walks around the site for our dog, and we visited Shotover Country Park which was beautiful.
Disliked: Rain on second day but the spacious bell tent meant we were still comfortable. We were provided with electric hookup but the plug sockets didn't work. It would have been nice to charge our phones, but it didn't spoil the trip.

Bell tent
Liked: Perfect if you're looking for a simple campsite, with great views, and plenty of space for the children to play. Nothing was too much trouble, and although the facilities are basic, it's got everything you need.
