  • Quiet secluded site close to Bicester
  • The closest site to Bicester Heritage (two miles)
  • Fishing lakes on site
What an excellent Oxfordshire site this is for anglers. And walkers. And quiet English countryside appreciators. For friendly and well-maintained Glebe Leisure Park is in a cracking countryside location on the edges of Buckinghamshire and Northamptonshire as well as Oxfordshire and has two fishing lakes on site as well as lots of trails all around. Dogs – and their owners – like this place too, as there are long walks and gravelled pathways with dog waste bins set at handy locations, and it's mighty like too that cyclists will like the gentle and short pedal along to local town Bicester... Any amenities you might need are sorted here, such as a loo and shower block with info room about the surrounding area, a toilet and shower facilities for disabled guests, a chemical disposal point, drinking water outlets and a car park.

Powered grass campsite

Liked Lovely site, very local to me and stayed here on a few occasions to clean my van inside and out after winter storage, especially to clean roof and solar panel so wanted hook up. Lakes field and woodland dog walk are lovely… dog walk seems to be only partially fenced. I don’t use toilets etc but reception area etc looked spotless and friendly welcome when I arrived. Was allocated my grass electric pitch but a little unclear where the marker lines were.

Disliked Unhooked my van second day to use the jet wash, hadn't been turned on after winter and could only be turned on by warden who was not on site at that time. Still managed to wash using my bucket, brush and stepladder.

Biggest dislike is this area needs serious attention. It has the waste, recycling bins, grey water waste and chemical toilet disposal.
The drain, presumably for grey water (next to jet wash) is full of mud and doesn’t soak down for ages. (Possibly could use the full service drains if no one is pitched on them … as I did first night but they were very smelly and not available 2nd night). There is a drinking water tap, with connected hose ..the end stuck in a dirty road cone so it doesn’t drop on ground covered by leaves and mud. It stands next to an upside down white plastic bin covered in mud splashes and green mould. The chemical disposal - which presumably everyone needs to use, is surrounded by concrete, the outside and some of the inside is covered in green algae and needs a good jet wash. There is a hose to wash your loo bin out but it is a grim area! This really is far from hygienic and needs to be sorted!

FHU cement/asphalt and grass campsite

Liked Hard standing fully serviced pitches with grass are unfortunately in the shade all day due to the avenue of trees between car park and pitches , would consider just hard standing with electric as all those pitches are in the sun if we returned, showers really good and block heated , lovely walks around the lakes , need car here as no public services to Bicester and road is quite busy to walk on as no paths , overall nice peaceful site and safe , gated barrier entry with key card , pitches not very level

Disliked Stayed on pitch 29 in the shade unfortunately no sun on pitch due to the trees

Local attractions

Plenty of shops, restaurants, pubs and cafés are in Glebe Leisure's local town of Bicester within a couple of miles, and designer clothes and accessories in the outlet shopping centre Bicester Village. Glebe is the closest site to Bicester Heritage, the first park in the UK for the tender loving restoration care of classic and vintage cars, motorbikes and planes, all on over 345 acres of an old RAF bomber station. The centre's been described as 'a historic motoring fan's idea of heaven' so do speed along there if old engines make your motor hum. Twelve miles from the site is simply smashing Blenheim Palace, given to the first Duke of Marlborough by Charlie 2 and handed down through the Churchill family to reach one Winston some decades back. You really should have a trip... Also within 12 miles are another few British institutions: the dizzying array of arty treasures at the National Trust's Waddesdon Manor; Broughton Castle at Banbury, and days out spectating fast types at Silverstone Circuit.
