Shepherd's hut
Liked: Very pretty garden with trees, flowers and birds singing. Well equipped, cosy caravan and a great fire pit. Well connected with everything Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire has to offer, easy to get to.
Disliked: The campsite is right next to a town and a railway line but this wasn’t too much of a problem, the campsite itself felt peaceful and idyllic and it’s easy enough to drive to other areas such as the Sherwood Forest. We stayed 1 adult and 2 older kids in the Sheperds Hut but I’d recommend just staying 2 people as it’s more kitted out for that. The field was water logged in a lot of places but we were notified about it in advance so brought wellies and didn’t mind too much but it would be easier for kids to play if it was drier so something to just bare in mind. The facilities are quite basic but ok for a short stay.

Primitive grass tent campsite
Liked: Easy to find on foot. Welcoming and decent facilities. Warm showers most welcome and a good wheel barrow of wood from Andy for my oil drum fire. Quiet surroundings. Hard to believe on a mile or so from the main town really!
