Liked: Just got back from a wonderful stay, Met By Dean (the owner) very polite and helpful, showed us where all the amenities was and even told us the local dog walks. Campsite was easy to find from the postcode given when booked. Pitches are very spacious, Low noise, with lovely views around the campsite. There is a enclosed play area for children to play. This site is clean, showers and toilets where spotless and always stocked up. The pot area was all kept immaculate, with hot running water. Free wifi with good connection. The campsite is lit up at night and felt safe. Loved the Alpacas on site and the morning dog walk around the outside of the camp grounds. will deffo be coming back !!!

Powered grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: A lovely tidy peaceful site, very laid back atmosphere, good size pitches, sheltered from the wind, loved seeing the alpacas!

Disliked: my only slight issue was that there is no obvious reception or a place to check in, I had to phone the owner to find out where to pitch when we arrived, maybe a sign on site to tell people what to do would help or information on the booking email about how/where to check in?

Alpaca fields primitive grass tent campsite

Liked: The campsite was easy to find from the postcode provided. I was a quiet location , surrounded by fields and alpacas to visit! The play area was high quality and had equipment for a range of ages. The campsite was small which meant our child could play on the equipment whilst we put up the tent. The size of he site also meant the walk to the toilets was short. The toilets were well maintained and clean at all times. They were regularly re-stocked with toilet paper etc. The washing up area was modern and clean. The showers were basic (not a traditional shower block but individual shower huts/stalls). However, they were very clean and functional with plenty of hot water. There were hooks for towels and a shelf for a small wash bag. At night, there was plenty of lighting on sensors near the toilets and sink area. The site owner was friendly, welcoming and helpful.

Disliked: We visited in the summer holidays and so the site was busy. More toilets would have been useful as there were occasional queues. I would also have preferred separate male and female toilets.

Alpaca fields primitive grass tent campsite

Liked: Everything! It was a lovely quiet site, everything was spotlessly clean and great facilities such as showers, washing area, toilets. Owner couldn’t do enough for us too! On site shop with vending machines, wood and outdoor games was an added bonus! Perfect little find and will definitely be returning.

Alpaca fields primitive grass tent campsite

Liked: A lovely site in a quiet location. 2 hot showers and toilets with space to freshen up in. Extra touches like seats and picnic benches dotted around, a coffee machine, use of fridge and freezer and free WiFi make all the difference. I liked the fact that we could BBQ and use a firepit. The whole place is kept beautifully clean and tidy, and the owner is friendly, helpful and laid back. All in all a good experience.

Disliked: Nothing

Alpaca fields primitive grass tent campsite

Liked: I spent 1 night here 17/8/24, lovely site, nice clean and friendly. Loved the Alpacas, hired fire pit with enough wood to last the evening. Will Definitely go again, near to Louth, Skegness, Lincoln and Woodhall Spa. Bought some home layer eggs also, best eggs I've had for long while, wished I'd bought more now.

Disliked: There was nothing to Dislike at all.

Liked: Very clean, well organised, friendly site. Simple but well thought out with beautifully presented facilities. We were there for only one night as it's close to home and we wanted to try out our new to us caravan but I will definitely be going back. I've sent several friends a direct link as a recommendation.

Liked: The site was clean, tidy with good facilities. The site is fairly small with a good playground, lamas and chickens. The Lincolnshire wolds which you are in the heart off are absolutely beautiful, with plenty of walks around the area.

Liked: The quirky toilet/shower block, which was beautifully clean and well stocked with toilet paper etc. We had our dog with us and he enjoyed the lovely dog walk. Long enough to give him a good walk with plenty of interesting sniffs. There was a fun play area, which was very popular with all the children on the site. The campsite was lovely and tidy, with lots of flowers in planters. The farm even had llamas!! Would recommend to anyone.

Disliked: Absolutely nothing!

Local attractions

Wanders around the Wolds start at the site gate. Hiking across the flat landscape should be pretty easy for most walkers: strolls up from Benniworth to Donington or Bain along the old railway line are highly recommended. For walks around a man-made landscape instead, head down to Walled Garden Baumber (10 minutes' drive), a kooky plant haven where green-fingered guests can also treat themselves to a cream tea.  Top towns in the local area include Louth (15 minutes) with its Georgian architecture and Spout Yard park, and Horncastle (15 minutes) for bargain-hunting on the high street's many antique shops. Lincoln (30 minutes) is another must-see stop on any trip here: head to the castle for medieval history or climb up to the cathedral's viewing gallery and admire the cityscape below.  For kid-pleasing days, try the cute animals at Rand Farm Park (15 minutes) or the bigger beasts on display at Woodside Wildlife Park (20 minutes). Family-friendly beach time can also be arranged – head to Mablethorpe or Skegness (both 40 minutes) if you want to feel the sand between your toes.
