Primitive grass tent, travel trailer or trailer tent campsite

Liked: The site was well maintained and the facilities were all clean and again well maintained. We liked the ensuite shower rooms, these were perfect for getting ready in the morning especially trying to wash and dress younger children and again for my self who has some mobility issues. We also really appreciated the showers not being on timers. The kitchen/Laundry area was big enough for several family's to be doing laundry or washing up at the same time. The microwave was a good add very convenient. The owners/staff were all friendly and helpful. We thought it good that the site was key code entry at all times. We were well informed on site from phone calls to noticed around the site, we thought the welcome letter with additional info was good. The club house was a lovely surprise and had good food. We enjoyed the walk around the ponds and seeing the wild geese wonder about.

Disliked: Over all it was a good site, it bugged us slightly that they had several freezers for guests to put ice block etc in but for the whole time we were their they were filled with bags of ice cubes, which seemed to not be used or moved. The site was quiet so we aren't sure who they belonged to or if they were for guests to use. The washing machine timer was a good idea but having to add another 20p just to open the door was annoying (although this had been pointed out in the instructions of use to be back before the timer ends)

From the manager: Thank you for taking time out to leave us a lovely compreshensive review, along with kind and thoughtful comments. I so wished you had come and seen me about the ice cube bags I would have looked into the issue and got it resolved for you, regarding the washing machine it is set up in this fashion so that guests do not leave their washing and go out for the day rendering it useless for others that want to use it, we very much look forward to welcoming you back to our site

This site is lovely, the pods and accommodation also look amazing, spotless…

Liked: Everything! fish and chip Friday was brilliant and the food was delicious, perfect for after a long day's drive. Spacious pitches, plenty of water and waste points dotted around, lovely site to walk around as it's not crammed full of pitches and half the site had been left to nature, beautiful lakes and bursting full of wildlife ❤️ We will return!

Disliked: Nothing

Liked: Size of pitches, en suite shower rooms, quiet site, fish and chip Friday, selection of cakes available, bar.

Disliked: Our pitch didn't drain particularly well so was very wet.

From the manager: Thank you for your review and lovely photos, yes the weather was unkind during your stay but we pride ourselves that our site remained open when many across and local ones had to close, we have an extremely well draining site as we have left all of our field dykes in tact, so when it does stop raining our site dries very quickly usually within 24 hours, we look forward to welcoming you again soon with hopefully better weather

A really comfortable spacious & scenic stay. Ending with Sunday lunch.

Powered cement/asphalt and grass travel trailer campsite

Liked: What a lovely campsite. Run by a very hard working couple. Lakes and Lawns Campsite is just the kind of place to get away from it all. It's a very friendly site, which is down to the obviously excellent customer service skills of Tracy and Nigel. Along with a clearly dedicated staff team it's easy to feel part of the family. As for the facilities lovely clean toilets and showers and plenty of hot water. Then there's tge restaurant where you can experience great meals at a reasonable price. We will definitely be returning.

Local attractions

Not had enough bird-based entertainment on site? Head over to Baytree Owl and Wildlife Centre 15 minutes’ drive to catch a falconry display or flutter 25 minutes away to the RSPB Frampton Marsh Nature Reserve for a touch of twitching in the wild. If the kids are in tow, take them to Jurassic Golf for the crazy golf course then follow up with the Fun Farm indoor play centre (both 15 minutes). Adults meanwhile might appreciate Ayscoughfee Hall Museum and Gardens for the regular concerts, theatrical performances and craft sessions; Peckover House and Gardens is also for them if they’re into aping the aristocracy on tours of posh country homes…
