  • Family-friendly Lincolnshire caravan park at Chapel St Leonards
  • Ingoldmells Beach 15 minutes’ walk; Fantasy Island 10 minutes’ drive
  • Fishing lake and well-stocked tackle shop; pubs 10 minutes’ drive
Tucked into the seaside village of Chapel St Leonards 15 minutes’ drive from Skegness on the Lincolnshire coast, Lakeland Caravan Park is a family-run and family-friendly caravan park somewhat removed from the madcap bustle of the main east-coast seaside resorts. The site still gets busy during the school holidays, so if you’re after a quieter sojourn, book for spring or autumn. The pitches are well drained and all have electric hook-ups, and you can use showers and washing-up facilities in the brick facilities block, which has disabled access. Dogs are welcome and can be walked on Ingoldmells Beach (15 minutes’ stroll). Of course, one of the main draws at this site is the fishing; there is a lake where anglers can cast out their lines daily, and weekly matches are open to all caravan site guests. There’s a very well-stocked tackle shop selling fresh bait and everything from budget rod-and-reel deals to get novices started to fishing gear from top brands. Sea fishing is also available from Ingoldmells Beach. Anything else you might need? There are shops, lots of pubs, amusement arcades and night-time entertainment all within 10 minutes’ drive of the pitches.

Powered grass travel trailer campsite

Liked: Friendly staff and neighbours Large, level pitch , very close to the beach for dog walking . Bathrooms are cleaned a few times a day, water was hot , but showers could definitely do with an upgrade. I liked the privacy in the shower area, and although there were only 2 showers in the ladies, I never had to wait . All in all a good stay.

Liked: Location was fantastic for the beach , nice friendly vibe to the place and staff were more than helpful .

Disliked: Shower and toilet block aren’t cleaned to any standard that is acceptable to anyone , glad I had a motorhome and not camping with the state of the amenities on site and I’ve paid a less elsewhere and they all managed to have clean usable toilet and shower blocks .

From the manager: hi sorry cant let this go the lady that cleans are toilets does a fantastic job could be you went in their once and they were not clean but she does a deep clean 3 time a day and is in the toilets cleaning them about 5-6 hour a day. So the standard would not be bellow standard each time you went in their.

Powered grass RV campsite

Liked: Nice site, yards away from a dog friendly beach and a 5 minute walk to the nearest cafes, pubs and amusements. As a mobility scooter user the ground is flat and scooter friendly but is a little bumpy. A sloop is nearby to be able to get on to the beach promanade to travel to either Ingoldmells or Chapel Point. Would stay again

Disliked: Shower button did not stay on, so had to wash whilst holding one hand on the timing button, but showers were hot with good pressure.

Powered grass tent or trailer tent campsite

Liked: Plenty of room to pitch up, staff are really lovely and welcoming. right next to everything, 10 mins walk to beach and chapel at Leonard’s strip, or 10 mins the other direction out of camp and your in ingoldmells. Plenty of places to fish onsite if that’s your thing.

Disliked: The only thing I didn’t enjoy was queuing for the showers, there are only 2 on site (2 in men’s and 2 in women’s toilets) and there not in the best state (don’t stay on at all you have to hold the shower button down for water). Floors were always dirty and soaked in the shower but there was always someone round there cleaning so they do try and keep on top of it, If they upgraded the showers and put in an extra couple I’m sure this area would be so much better. Plenty of toilets though and always had loo roll.
