Powered forest floor tent campsite (woodland)

Liked: This site was just so lovely - we loved the woodland pitches, the campfires and the willow weaving round the central area where the kids played with their new campsite friends. The picnic bench, water tap and electric hook up on each pitch was a level of convenience that was a luxurious contrast to the chilled woodland back-to-nature vibe. The loo and shower facilities were clean and easy to use, and running hot water in the wash-up area was a treat. We loved exploring and den building in the woods and watching the bats overhead in the evening while we toasted our s’mores. The parking area being a short distance from the pitches could have been a bit of a hassle (camping with little kids seems to involve way too much stuff!) but there were loads of clean dry wheelbarrows to use and the paths were wide and level. After all this wet weather the owners had obviously also gone to some trouble to lay a thick new coating of wood chip so there was no slipping or squelching to contend with. Would highly recommend.

Powered forest floor tent campsite (woodland)

Liked: Absolutely beautiful place to camp. My sister, my niece, myself and 3 small dogs. We all enjoyed every minute of it. Lovely area to walk the dogs, saw lots of deer and other wildlife. Picnic bench and fire pit next to the tent was very handy. Will definitely be going back.

Disliked: The road driving to the campsite. Very bumpy, uneven and lots of potholes!

Camping pod

Liked: I’ve been campaigning to quite a few places and this is by far my favourite. It is beautiful and very peaceful. I have a very stressful job and it was nice to just relax and forget about all of my worries as an adult. Quite easy to find, has parking and the area is well looked after/maintained. Good facilities and and lovely walks around the place. My favourite thing was visiting the cows in the field near by! I went as a solo female and I felt safe as I booked in one of the pods which can be locked over night. Will definitely be back and highly recommend it to others!

Powered forest floor tent campsite (woodland)

Liked: Remote location, beautiful site, peace and quiet. The site is isolated away from the road, very little human noise. Amazing wildlife around, many deer, pheasants and everything that lives in the Lincolnshire wilds. Electricity and WiFi helped with the older children. Very well presented site and lovely owners.made us feel very welcome. Small but well managed facilities.

Disliked: Folly Road. But the site has no responsibility for this. They have been told the council will resurface though......

Powered forest floor tent campsite (woodland)

Liked: We arrived to those stunning woods late in the evening, had a little hiccup along the way with our tent and the owner was so helpful and kind! She sorted a pod for us and we ended up staying in that for our whole stay! It was nothing short of magical, relaxing and just so full of nature! Such a hidden gem, will be back again!

Disliked: No complaints!

Local attractions

From coast to countryside, activities to attractions, Lincolnshire has masses to offer all comers, what with family jaunts around a dinosaur trail and encounters with rare arctic foxes at ARK Wildlife and Dinosaur Park (five minutes’ drive), and meeting cheeky parrots or feeding tigers at Lincolnshire Wildlife Park (15 minutes). If you’d rather spot some wildlife actually in the wild, Gibraltar Point National Nature Reserve (40 minutes) is the place to be, for rambles across dunes and the chance to spot colonies of common seals. If you like to be beside the seaside, Skegness (half an hour) is a riot of family fun, with amusement arcades, go-karting, mini-golf and fairground rides – and that’s before you hit the sandy beach. If you’d prefer a more sedate trip to the coast, the New Farm team recommend their favourite spot, Chapel Six Marshes (40 minutes). Lincolnshire’s also known for its military connections: the Lincolnshire Aviation Heritage Centre (10 minutes) is home to one of the few Lancaster Bombers still in existence, and there are more vintage World War Two planes on display at the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Visitors Centre (20 minutes).
